DSP Amp Fixing/Location

I'm now on my 3rd DSP amp, after waiting a few months to source one. Plugged it in and sound straight away so for some reason my P38 is eatin em!!
Anyway I'm sure the location and fixing of these things is not helping the issue, as it seems prone to a lot of vibration and movement in its factory location (as well as being very close to a cold/damp bulkhead)
As by way of experiment I've located the new one enclosed in some padding (with some breathing space) but well supported so there is no movement.
I've been running it for quite a while and though it gets warm I wouldn't say it was excessive.
I'd be interested to hear anybodies experience of a similar set up. Or if anyone can tell me these things get red hot after a while and it will all end in tears!!!
If it does the whole system is going to be ripped out for something new.

I'd suggest that you get an electronics engineer to have a look at the other two. He/she might not be able to repair them but might give you a clue why you are causing a nationwide shortage all on your own. The one thing that occurs to me is a bad connection somewhere in the supply cable. If there's a bad connection or a break then a spark across that might be powerful enough to blow the power supply part of the amp.

To be fair the 1st one did last 8 years. Its the replacement that went bang in quick time. The connection between the amp and the connecting plug seems fine. Tracing a possible break somewhere along the cables seems to be a bit of a mission.
I think I'll wait and see how long this one lasts and if it goes bang in quick time I think its time to ditch the original for something new!!

Im still trying to find one! mine hasnt worked since i got the car and am not prepared to pay 25o quid for 1 either. bought a dsico amp but it onlt uses front speakers and no cd changer.
