Hi Folks,
I have discovery I 2.5tdi year 1992 , my problem is following
gearbox is making strange noise and you can feel some hard hit from gear box when you start to drive and while you driving when accelerate and remove foot from accelerator.... does anybody have same problem and how can i fix it... thanks in advance....

do you know maybe on that output shaft , part which is going true reducer, does it have screew on the end, because there is thread on the end ...

i was asking because when i remove small cover from reducer, there is only end of gearbox output shaft without end screew.

mine was the same so i presume it's meant to be that way as it's designed to be a power take off point i believe.

what shoud i do then?

Also do you know where i can buy front diff. because in my country is expensive and some other parts...

the slack in my 90 was in the transfer gearbox clunking on pull of and when changing gear ,so i got one from ebay but you need to speak to some people on here who know landys better than me as im still learning about them myself mate so wouldn't want to misinform you.

you need to chec k to see if the main shaft splines and input gear splines are worn was a very common fault eventually leading to loss of drive ,rocking gearbox on clutch or transfer box by hand with transfer box in diff lock and front and back wheel jacked up would show you ,thread is on the end as did have a drive flange bolted on when used in cars as box was first used for and was never removed as it is used for special tools in building gear box
