You sound like you have had a hard time somewhere along the line. You can get over it or stay bitter and twisted. Getting over it is better from personal experience.:)

A 'No' uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a 'Yes' merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.

All compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender. For it is all give and no take.

Who said out about Aggression???? I'm one of the nicest peeps you'll ever meet.

Well the nicest bitter & twisted person, you'll ever meet anyway :D :D

seem okay to me, well as long as your not down wind when you let rip:eek:

Everyone has a different view of the same thing Tony, but historically Labour have bankrupted the country every time they have been in power and done little or nothing for the workers they claim to represent. From my point of view Scargill sacrificed the miners in the pursuit of politcal power, holding the country to ransome by cutting off the power. That will not be your point of view I'm sure. London docks were shut down by union restrictive practices that made the docks uneconomic. It amazed me that they could turn a cargo ship round in Tema harbour in 3 days with half the men plus modern machinery that took 3 weeks to do the same thing in London. Unions should be banned from political affiliation and stick to looking after their members.
We now need people to stand up to the government on the streets if necessary.
Look at the figures, (which often lie) if they are to be believed, 80% of new job vacancies are been taken by foreigners. I reckon there are at least 4 or 5 times more immigrants in the UK than the government admit to. I've nothing against immigrants (I am one in France) but the sheer numbers are unsuportable, especially as a fair proportion come just for the social handouts. They are quite open about it when interviewed on French TV as to why they are heading for the UK, benefits. Stop entitlement to benefits for immigrants until they have a 5 year work record and you stop the bulk of undesirable immigration.
The NHS is overstretched by the numbers many who arrive with various ailments including AIDS plus the medical tourists like rich Arabs that go to the Uk for free medical treatment. As a UK citizen who has paid 44 years contributions I am no longer entitled to free NHS treatment because I've been out of the country for more than 6 months. If I go back to the UK it will be as an asylum seeker to qualify for medical cover. You coudn't make it up, pure Alice in Wonderland.

Yeah Keith can see where your coming from. But see Labour bankrupting the country as investment being pulled from under their feet by the in generally Tory rich and you see a slightly different picture. This country and many others for that matter are run on a drip down economic basis. Notably the USA were big business elect presidents and it has very little to do with the people if they would only realise it. I mean for real would you have George Bush running a bloody laundry never mind a country? The big mistake the last Labour government made was not to create enough jobs, they did that to an extent. But to allow those jobs to be taken up by immigrant labour, rather than making our own sick lame and seriously bloody lazy get off their arses and do something to earn their keep. The Tories are trying to do that but there are no jobs for the people to do. Because the Banks still refuse to invest in the country. And what jobs there are are being done by immigrants. I agree the main if not entire reason people come here is if there is no work they can live on benifits. That needs changing straight away. In France you say it's five years in Spain it's ten years of working or paying tax before you get benifits of any kind. That should be the very next bit of legislation passed in government to cut the main attraction from menu. It may well go against European rules but other countries seem to manage to do it without much trouble don't see why we can't.

Not wanting to hi-jack this thread but what is this about not being entitled to free NHS treatment after being out of UK for 6 months. Is this true and how do you re-qualify. My daughter spent last year in Oz but she still receives NHS treatment now she has returned.Bit confused about this one.

Without checking think the rule is you have to be resident for at least six months out of the last twelve. If you have been abroad or come to live here perminently from abroad with a UK resident you have to wait for 26 weeks before you can claim benifits. Unless you were living in a European union country, then in that case the waiting time does not apply. Can't think that Keith with a fully paid up health insurance in the UK (44years) and living in France is quite correct on this one.

I have often wondered what reaction if any you'd get writing to lizzie and telling her what a ****e state of affairs things are and as your not sheeple therefore your withdrawing your support- chances are that a munter would send a standard reply Back.

But it would be funny saying your not impressed with the tampax conversation and the horse charles married after Diana.

Hoi, Leave our Royal Highness alone, although she was never crowned Queen Elizabeth of Scotland we should be proud to have her as head of state. Look at the other Countries in the World, they are envious of us here in the UK. Keep the Union jack flying and Long Live our Queen.

Wow that's a great contribution, labour bankrupted the country again just as they have done every time they have been in power. You really made a difference! Labour, the party of "Don't do as we do, do as we tell you" They have done nothing for the working man other than continue to make the rich richer and the poor poorer. Then you have Gordon Brown, the finacial wizard who sold our gold reserves at $275 dollars an ounce so he could have more money to squander. It's beyond words.

The point i was making Datatek, wasn't about whether i supported the right (or left) party, it was more that its easy to sit around having a go at politicians when you do nothing to change them. I used to be a staunch labour supporter, now i wish there was some viable 3rd party that was an alternative. The boundarys between left and right aren't as clear as they were, its just so bland and they all seem to make short term policys that aren't sustainable to keep on the gravy train for maybe 8 years and rape the system, the voters and the country.

The councillor i supported works on a grass roots level and is very well respected by the community as a whole...what happens to these people when they get to Westminister!!??

I see the figures about immigrant workers and they are disturbing, why can't British youth do some of this work..then as Redhand says, you actually see them work and you start to realise why! I have just done some agency work as a temporary measure whilst waiting for paperwork from Denmark (near Sweden :D) and i asked one of the very few english lads why there were so many Poles...because they work like slaves he said, and they do, they never bloody stop!

Its sadly that SOME of the younger generation (god, a sentence i never thought i'd utter) that expect something for nothing, won't take a job because its only a little more than their benefits etc..the system hasn't failed them as some of the idiot rioters claimed, the system has actually treated them like spoilt kids and given them everything on a plate..white, black, brown whatever colour!

I've been accused of being a lefty, not seeing whats going on, burying my head in the sand etc..i'm not and i don't..i actually do care about this bloody country and am proud of it, but its slowly been sliding into decline for many years regardless of which govt is in...and despite attempting to remain positive its hard to see how to stop that decline without major changes in many aspects of law and society. I think its easy to blame the immigrants or the descendents of previous immigrants...but i think THATS burying your head in the sand..this generation, mainly, is fed bull**** political promises and on the other channels are fed bull**** reality TV that tells them that all they have to do to get money is make an arse of themselves for the amusement of the rest of society. Infamous for 15 minutes is what too many strive for.

Blimey..i need more gravy on my yorkshire puds!

Yeah some of what you say is ok. But you have obviously not read my previous posts. The government can't bring investment to this country. Because it can't control the banks. Who will invest where the most profit is and at the moment that is not here. All they can do is bribe companies to have factories here with large tax concessions. They use drip down economics were the rich ( Large companies, Banks Etc) are given tax concessions and wealth in the hope they will invest and create work for the people. This is not happening as can be seen by the growth figures. If the billions the banks lost in bad dept we are now having to pay off, had been invested here maybe there would be jobs for people. But they invested it abroad in high risk high profit areas and it went tits up. When it did go tits up the British government bailed them out, in other words the rich investors got their money back. The british people have to endure cuts in public spending to make sure the rich don't lose their fortunes.
I have read your posts mate just confused me threads abit:doh:,and i agree that the whole system is flawed when it comes to the economy and investment and distribution of wealth, all i'm saying is don't lose sight of that which you argue so passionately for cos it ain't all bad ,if it was it wouldn't be worth fighting for the change which is so badly needed, unfortunately for us it seems that we are saddled with a flawed monetary system and at least one generation half of whom wouldn't take work if it was found for them .

Government can destroy jobs but they cannot create them other than tax payer funded civil service jobs. What they can do is create an environment where jobs can be created by entrepreneurs. I built a business that employed 50 at it's peak, still friends with some of them. I don't mind paying a resonable amount of tax if there is something to show for it. In the UK now the level of tax for the working man is unreasonable and for the average man there is little or nothing to show for it.

I have it in writing from the DHSS, for medical treament in the UK I need an EHIC card if I'm visiting and if I return to live it's 6 months before I'm entitled to free medical treatment. As an illegal immigrant I would get treatment straight away not to mention benefits:mad:
Of course as the NHS has no proper acounting or invoicing system in place they often make no attempt to charge.

Theres been a mistake there datatek, id been away 13 years and i got registered with a GP straight away, free prescriptions etc, even got some specs and my teeth done whilst i waited for a job offer :D (May this year)

How I laughed they are planning to strip rioters of homes and benefits- so they will create disenchanted homeless poverty stricken rioters. Talk about pouring petrol on a flammable situation.

As I said before-I"d like the whole ponzi **** storm to crash and burn-looks like my wish could come true sooner than I expected.

I've driven tractors etc before and would have no issue with driving them in exchange for decent farm fresh food_much better than supermarket crap.
