Hello from Florida.

I stumbled into your site while I was searching for a simpler, less costly DIYS way to fix my wifes ac problem in her '96 RR P38.

Issue:
Her ac would blow cold for up to 15 minutes, then warm from that point on. The notebook indicator is displayed on the cluster.

Oh, The clutch seemed to be working fine and the systems charge is w/in parameters.

Anyway, we've owned this RR for close to 2 years now and the ac went out w/in 6 months after our purchase. Since then, we've had it at a RR specialty shop where they told us it was the Servo's and or the Blend Motors, which would cost us over $2500 to fix. I then began searching the web trying to find a simpler less costly DIYS explanation and/or repair options.

That's where this site comes in. This morning I did another search and luckily stumbled into this site. A member here posted a thread with the same issue and other members suggested the clutch wasn't enguaging like it should. In short, the OP was instructed to remove the comp clutch and take out the shim/washer, as it sometimes wears (more than .8mm) causing the clutch not to work properly, as the volts supplied weren't enough to cross the gap. Pics were provided as well as a link to a Repairdetails site that also mentioned this alternative way to correct this issue. So I figured why not? I followed the instructions and VOILA, COLD AIR ..continuously!

Anyway, some of you may think wtf dude? No Biggie!
Well I gotta tell ya, I was at my wits end . My wife was on me complaining about the heat etc.. etc.. and I was about to spend a lot of $ that I didn't want to part with. So not all of the ac issues are fixed IE..Directional. But,the main issue seems to be..We've had cold air for more than 4 hours now!

So, a big THANK YOUfrom the wife and I.:5bcheers2:
