Im thinking I need to own one of these faultmates .........

630 quid new on ebay ..... is that the going rate ?

and how much is the licence for say 2 other vehicles ....?

Sounds pricey, but not if you say it quickly .......... and you dont notice it when its paypal ....... :)

Go straight to Black Box, I don't know if it'll be any cheaper but you get a full menu of prices.

As per dogsbody, go straight to www.blackboxsolutions .com
If you want to use it for more than one vehicle, you might be better buying a multi vehicle version with just the software modules you need, you can always add more modules later. Thats what I did, I left out the EAS module as I have the free RSW software for that but I covered all the other options for the diesel auto 99on.

ta for that .........
went to the site, looks like the price is about right then .........

Bit of a huge number to swallow ....... but then its not that long ago that the dealer charged me 85 quid just to plug in and tell me which lamda sensor was duff ..........

That'll be the girls birthday presi to me then :lol

£630 for 1 vehicle. something like £400 for every licence after. i already asked them. and for the multi vehicle licence is apprx £2000 + Vat. my advice hang back for a few months if you can and see what story wilson is.

Multi vehicle with the modules I needed came to less than £700 inc VAT after BBS's block purchase discount.
I don't know where you get the £2K from, you need to be selective about the software modules you buy for the vehicles you want to deal with:)

i actually rang them direct to cyprus to ask and that was what they told me.

So they quoted you for about every fecking module for every model, print off the list and cherry pick the modules you need if you want multi vehicle.

see im not all that up on what exactly i will need and wont. i have 2 P38 DSE's so kinda want everything for both. im going to bide my time and see what story comes up with. I have a FCR that i bought in that deal and im quite happy with it, in fact used in in an emergency last week with an eas fault on the road and it cleared it and got me motoring straight away. have to say im happy with it really but for the MSV-2 extreme the price is still a little high at the moment. im not waiting on it but would like it there if i need it.

The price actually sucks .......... :) but then I remember times when the only option you had was the dealer.
I just think that if ur a P38 addict, then it's something you gotta have.

anyway, sorted, spoke to my girl and she'll cough half for my birthday pressi ..... hahahaha

The hardware is no more expensive that Storey's, get that then slip the odd software module through on the restaurant account and build it up slowly as you need it, i.e. pay and download the appropriate module when you have a fault that needs it. Very quick and easy to do.:)

That my friend is a good idea. How much for the bare unit and how much roughly for each module for a DSE?

Faultmate Nano HW015 is €149 plus VAT @15% You don't really need the Extreme, the only time you are likely to use it stand alone is for the EAS and if you already have an EAS kicker it's pointless. Black OBD lead €35, LD034 Serial lead €3 and you are ready to go hardware wise. SM007 post 99MY Bosch EDC €179; SM022 BECM €125; SM027 HEVAC €96; SM018 WABCO ABS/TCS; SM013 SRS Post 99MY €85; SM029 Auto box €74 all plus VAT. Just be carefull over the model years. You can download a full price list from the BBS site.:D

well the fact that i have the FCR with the correct cable will mean i dont have to buy another cable??

the Faultmate Nano HW015 does it still give the software readouts that the MSV-2 does?

Exactly the same just doesn't have it's own display, you have to use the laptop. I bought the Extreme but have never used the thing without the laptop. Don't know if the FCR cable is the same, I suspect not. I wish now that I had bought the Nano and used the money I saved for more software.
