My friend has just bought a disco 300tdi 1997 P reg. I egged him on and he eventually got one :D

He'll be wanting to come laning and off-roading with us lot in Suffolk & Essex. He is now setting it up for off-roading.

I helped him cut his bumper off today. Ended up completely removing it and he'll be replacing with a HD version. I also told him to ditch the sidesteps so off they came

He then told me to stop  He wants some subtle mods so it doesn't look a big beast. Still got to be a daily car

So...... what are the subtle mods to make them better

Mods I suggested to him were.......

HD bumper
Remove sidesteps to add sliders
New exhaust (straight through mid section with rear box)
De-egr
De-cat
Remove towbar
Add jates at rear
Diff guards
Spots on lightbar
Wading kit
Safari snorkel

Anything I've missed?? :D

Decent tyres should be his 1st mod I reckon

everning Ratts - yu been busy?

Evening MHM.

I wasn't overly busy yesterday but had to rush home, get changed quick and then leg it down to Weymouth for a certain persons engagement party.;) I got home at 1am and then started work at 6am with a trip over to your neck of the woods with a transit Luton van. If we'd had some more staff on I woulda given you a shout and dropped over to say Hi. I've been busy all day. I've not done a huge amount of jobs but they've all bee awkward ones. I'm waiting for a load of youtube videos to go up after spending 30-40 mins today assisting one of our guys in loading up a jag that had lost control and wiped a couple of parked cars out in the town centre. There must've been about 50 people their all with their camera phones out.:rolleyes::eek:

I lost the feed to the o/s/r side light so on friday I thought that I'd sort that out and then do the wire you sent me and then would wire the heated seats up properly. I found a wire that had cut through on the trailerboard wiring. Unfortunately it was for the N/S/R light so wasn't right. I rekon the wire has rubbed somewhere on top of the chassis and will be a bitch to get at. I thought I'd use the break in the trailerboard wiring as a temporary supply for the lost rear light feed. Due to strong winds, lack of flux, awkward as hell loacation etc I ran out of bloody solder before I got finished. I'm waiting until I get paid on tuesday and then will get some more solder and some more flux and have another crack at it.

I use flux too if I need to clean the wiring up first.

I was led on my back soldering directly above my face with a gas soldering iron. There wasn't a lot of room for both hands, the soldering iron and the solder.

5? there's about 30 on mine.

I changed the filters for him already.

It has a set of Insa tyres on already. Previous owner had them put on for the bad weather just recently. Still got the knobbles on :D
