Engine Oil Additives i.e. Ametech are they any use ?

Hi folks,

Has anyone had any experience, good, bad or indifferent with Ametech Oil additive. I've seen some good reports on a ford owners club forum but I was wondering if anyone had tried it in their Landy. Was thinking of adding some to my 1983 CSW 110 3.5L V8 but it's not cheap and I am wondering if it's worth it.

personally i find them to be a bit like snake oil....... if they actually did what they claim the big oil companies would have put them out of business or bought them up years ago

engine additives are snake oil imo, especially on older engines when coke build up etc can assist compression etc
