wet car doesn't work

hi all. i'm new here. after buying a freelander and havin so many problems with it i came across this site. thought you might be able to help me. whenever it is raining hard, or when i wash my car, it just refuses to start. it doesn't even try just click click click when i turn on the ignition. my dad sorted me out with his jump leads the other day, but then even that took a while. i have a 2001 freelander, K series engine. hope someone can help xxx

when its wet does it just have no power and won't turn over or does it crank for ages and not start

it has no power and won't turn over. it's like the battery is dead, and won't even lock. dad say's it's coz i had the radio on when i was washing it but i didn't!! xx
