Hi to everyone

I have a 1997 Discovery 1 300TDI with two bust key fobs and I need to bypass the immobiliser to get the car to the garage without paying big dosh to the recovery dudes.

Looked at some old post and saw that this is possible though it seems that i have a tamper proof fuel solenoid with three wires running in to it and a first attempt at a bypass was fruitless.

Is it still possible to bypass the immobiliser with a tamper proof solenoid?

NB I cant use the EKA code cos the drivers door lock actuator is bust.

Thanks

You can if you remove the tamperproof cover on the fuel cut off solenoid

??the cut off solenoid doesn't have a tamper proof cover??

If you have the same problem I had (I.e couldn't bypass immobiliser due to EDC unit on fuel pump) then I gave up and eventually found EKA code.
There's some threads on here with details of a couple of people who apparently supply the code for free once you've proved you own the motor.
Might be worth getting it and fixing the drivers door actuator (or can you not swap it with one of the others??)

Failing that - if you do work out how to bypass it let me know as everytime I disconnect the battery I have to go through the whole process of drivers lock twiddling.

Would be intersted to hear if you get a new fob synchronised and if so how..
The imobilisers deactivated on mine via EKA and I can't synch the fob

I will keep you posted. For the moment the Landy is stuck on the driveway again cos my EKA code has stopped working all of a sudden. My immobiliser resets itself every time I lock the doors with the key so I should have no trouble once I can actually get it to the garage for a key synch.

Any ideas on why the EKA would stop working?

Where are you i may know someone a lot better and cheaper who helped me :)

and if you connect a live feed to the middle wire of the TPS it should work (I think) have to put a switch in line though as you wont be able to turn off the engine

As I understand once the EKA code is entered the immobiliser is deactivated and stays that way until battery is disconnected or the fob is used to lock the doors.
Not sure why you would have to enter it every time you unlock the doors if you're only using the key - I don't! Bit of a ****ter though cos it means my disco is extremely easy to rob unless the battery is disconnected thus requiring EKA

I had a faulty tamper proof selonoid and took it in to the garage, they bypassed the box by taking it off and taking a live wire from the ignition Fuse in the cab and wiring it to the top of the Selonoid and it worked. But now my Glow Pluges do not work as a result is the only problem I have.
