On the globilisation theme, if we, the rich west, keep out-sourcing our production, to low labour cost countries, and now out-sourcing IT to India, where are we going to earn money to pay for our lifestyle?
No-one can blame workers in other countries for trying to better themselves, they work hard for less money than us, not out of choice, or some desire to put us out of work, do they? It`s to pay for their living. `cause land, housing, food, social exes are less, at present they can undercut us ,in the west. So big business goes there.
But who owns big business? In the case of TATA I think it`s privately owned by Mr. Mittal? (correct me if I`m wrong). So he is dealing for himself. But many companies are owned by e.g. pension funds. The pension funds I pay into are investing my money in companies exporting my work, making me unemployed? Some investment!
And don`t get me on pay for hedge-fund managers.....
OK, just a quick thought: Financiers say they deserve high pay because they deal in large sums of money; (not their own, but).
A taxi driver carries up to 4 passengers.
A bus driver carries up to 60 passengers . So using the "clever" financiers argument bus drivers should earn 20 times as much as a taxi driver, no?
Rant over... temporarily
