    Deployable sidestep sized to bracket

Hi all. Recently swapped my 21 yo P38 for 2010 L322 TDV8 3.6L. Fitted with aforementioned deployable sidesteps which work OK. However, manual says remove sidesteps before jacking car with provided scissor jack. Removed the 4 Allen screws securing step to brackets, but step still well and truly...

Datatek. I have a box full of "failed" sensors so I can certainly have a look inside a few. Any tips on dismantling?

Yes, I have measures resistance which, generally, but not always confirms failed sensor so I only change that one. Doesn't always work though. Sometimes I have had to replace a sensor which appears good to clear the fault. Tomcat59alan Reluctir rings checked, all teeth there and clean, but that...

Hi dubble, Replacing one or other sensor roughly every 2k miles I have never come across a damaged wire. I do use the hub/wing mounted clips to position the cable to the plug which appear to make good contact and are secure. Sprayed with contact cleaner various times. All to no avail. Datatej...

Hi Patricia, No vibration through steering wheel and I regularly feel front wheel centres as sticking calipers have been a feature over the years, easily detected by hot wheel centres. Another odd thing is it is always the front sensors that fail. As far as I am aware the rear sensors are the...

Hi Mark. All I can say re wheel bearings is it keeps passing MOT and no noise up front or heat. OSF drive shaft replace a couple of years ago and no sign of oil leak at that time. Similarly, brake pads regularly serviced with no sign of oil leaks from axle. I would hope my landy "expert" would...

Thanks Dan. Pretty much the conclusion I have arrived at myself. I am just perplexed by why they should fail like this. No moving parts or circuit boards/chips. Just a passive sensor. It's irritating! Odd, also, that the original sensors were OK for 15 years, apparently, they were well rusted in...

Hi all. It's been suggested I should post this teaser here, having already had a couple of responses. 10 years with my P38 4.6 Vogue, and not all plain sailing as you can imagine. I know there have been many posts on this subject but my experience does not, I belive, fit previously stated...

Hi Kermit_rr No I don't have my own diagnostic computer. My son has a "generic" one but plugged into my car it doesn't link to the software on his laptop. Not sure what photos would help?

But would that explain fault going away with new sensors? I have put a new brake light switch in some time ago, but that was chasing a cruise control issue.

Hi all. 10 years with my P38 4.6 Vogue, and not all plain sailing as you can imagine. I know there have been many posts on this subject but my experience does not, I belive, fit previously stated scenarios. About 5 years ago my local specialist replaced a worn front diff. He drilled out the ABS...

P38 - Anti Roll Bar Help

Hi. New member so apologies if doing this wrong! 2001 4.6 Vogue P38. Replacing roll bar drop links after low speed shunt so replacing bushes whilst I am at it (poly I am afraid:o) 2 problems. Drop link to chassis fastening is hidden by "shroud" on chassis so can't get spanner on flats...
