Well took everything apart to find the crankshaft pulley bolt undone ! Have got the bolt to 100Nm and marked it but can't move it much further. I put 2 bolts back in that hold the pulley on and wedged a crow bar in there. what do you do to hold the engine still?

Ok see what you mean now :) I done it up to 100nm and a bit, and the bit was about half a flat.

Have to say I'm confused :confused: what does the bolt have to do with the oil pump?:o

Changed the front crankshaft seal and oil cooler + pipes the other day which all went ok. On the way to work (10miles) I noticed the oil light starting to flicker on and off pulled over turned the engine off and back on again and all was fine then it started again. The car was running fine...

The numbers were from my Nano com as every now and then I have a flat spot when pulling away as you say they don't mean anything without the headings. If I could delete that post I would! Have checked the levels as you described and all is fine.

Well :rolleyes: there was nothing on the dip stick so I have filled it up and will see if it makes a difference.

Hi Saint, does not seem to petter out and pulls well just hits a wall around 4000rpm and will not give me any power back until I remove my foot totally from the throttle pedal.

Having appeared to have solved (hopefully) the auto gear box fault I still have a problem, is the rev limiter set at a certain limit (4000rpm ish) or does it change depending on speed/load/throttle position as this is what's happening at the moment whether I am towing our 25ft caravan or not...

I let the garage change the ATF and I can now say adding the ATF fix stuff has cured the flaring I was getting between 3rd and 4th and gears appear to be changing ok, but I still have a fault somewhere!
