Having problems with my auto box, I'll do my best to describe what happens and what I have done. When driving around normally and not towing my caravan evey thing seems fine gears change smoothly up and down as they should. When giving the car a bit of wellie it gets into 3rd and hits what I think is the rev limiter around 4000 revs and stays there, at this point I am just off the point of the kick down position with the throttle pedal if I come off the throttle just a bit then it will change into 4th and run as normal.

Does this with the caravan on the back if going up a hill even with my foot flat out on the throttle pedal but again if I just come off the throttle a bit it will change.

Have change the ATF and filter and added some Lucas transmission fix but it still does it! No faults recorded and no error messages.

Having just sorted a split coolant rad I’m now in two minds whether to keep the car or sell it!

ATF was brown/black but had no smell of burning. Added the transmission fix stuff a couple of days ago and have only done 30miles since, does this stuff work striate away?

Should I add another bottle?

I let the garage change the ATF and I can now say adding the ATF fix stuff has cured the flaring I was getting between 3rd and 4th and gears appear to be changing ok, but I still have a fault somewhere!
