Right so the M + S lights work fine on the dash and it's seems to be slipping/surging/revving at the change up from 3rd to 4th. I will pick up some fluid and I have a filter and i'll change the fluid in the box.

I will check for the marks and Spencer light and get back to you. Also, it definitely doesn't seem to be going into limp mode.

Ok so, I've sourced another block and the head has gone to the engineering guys to be cleaned up and pressure tested. fingers crossed! I've got to swap all the ancillaries from the old engine on to the new one (diesel pump, oil pump etc...) then i'll need to hire an angine crane for the day...

I reckon that it overheated as the collant was very low. If it was injectors then I'd love to know how I can test as I wasn't thinking of replacing them.

So, i've just got the head off and it looks like no.1 piston has melted and disintegrated. No.2 bore looks like it was just about to follow suit. There is a little bit of melted piston in the valves of no.1 but I think I'll be able to salvage the head without too much fuss. As for the...
