Yep, all V8's from 2000 on have the Bosch Motronic engine management regardless of 4.0 or 4.6.

And as someone who did exactly that I can vouch for how simple the process is.

Have you checked which version of the RF Receiver you have? It could be you have an old one which is causing the BECM to be woken up continually by various wireless signals. It's a very common cause of battery drain.

You can add extra modules for about £50 to enable it to work with a V8. It will also connect to all the other systems in any vehicle type without any further unlocks.
