Fitted DRLs using a durite kit which is about 30 quid, comes with everything and is dead easy to wire up, black to switch live, brown to ground and grey to headlights so they turn off when side lights come on.

Take the bulb out, when its cold hold it up so you see the filament and flick the bulb it could be a broken filament that separates when hot. Check the bulb holder connections to see if they sound, you may have a loose connection that is breaking when the lamp hots up. If that doesn't throw up...

Could be a number of things, have you tried pulling the cap of the one of the busted relays for any clues? ie are contacts burnt? Or does the coil look cooked? Did it all work ok before the upgrade or was the upgrade to put right problems that were already there? If it is burning relays...
