    sold it.

Hi all I have now parted with my TD5 after 2 years of ownership, just a quick thanks to all on here who have helped previously with advice directly or just by finding answers to things that have previously been posted. I have always found this forum very useful. We loved our disco but i we sold...

Bumper feels rough and yet smooth

Mine are the same on a 52 plate, rough near bodywork and smooth elsewhere. There are lots of things you can put on them to make them look shiny all over. I use a silicone based bumper dressing ( not a spray on one, thick gloopy stuff) which makes them look better, even just wiping a greasy or...

    I've made a discovery!

you dont say what model it is. It could be that your aircon drains are blocked, you will find these under the car either side of the gearbox bellhousing, they have a cone shaped end which you need to pull off and clean out. when blocked they back up with water and it comes out of the lowest air...

    Disco1 child seat laws

The child seat laws state that children up to 135cm or 12 years old must be in a suitable child restraint where there is one fitted and usable. What you are suggesting sounds fine. If you cannot fit a booster in the middle then it is not a problem, I cant get three kids boosters/seats across the...

    Ride height calibration.

i have had the same with my td5, i fitted new sensors and had it all checked over only to be told by an independant that up to an inch out of level is nothing to worry about so i havent worried about it since, some days it sits level, others it doesnt.

I have not really ben using my disco very much for a while now due to fuel prices we have mainly used our other car and i was beginning to think that owning it was a bit of a waste of money and thinking of selling it. A few days ago i had to go and collect our caravan and then sold the caravan...

    tyre wear rate???

can anyone tell me wether the rear or front tyres generally wear faster on a TD5, i have not had to fit a new set of tyres yet, the rears are more worn than the fronts but dont know wether this is down to rear wearing faster as i didnt pay much attention to the wear levels when i bought the car...

    discovery td5 missing

If the pump is whining it is fairly likely that there is air getting into the pump somehow so you may have a slight leak on the feed pipe to the pump or the pump itself may be a bit past it.

    What Injectors?

It is best to ensure that the intercooler is totally free of anything that the engine could run on ie anything flammable. A mate of mine several years ago did a clean through job on a 525tdi BMW, put it all back together and on start up it pulled in all the flammable fluids he had cleaned it...

    H2O in driver footwell?

If its got air con check the aircon drains first, mine did this and i paid out for a new windscreen as lots of people said that it is common for the screens to leak. All it needed was the aircon drains clearing which come out either side of the gearbox at the rear of the bellhousing underneath...

    help needed urgently TD5 gauges

Well theres still no good news. Apparently it needs a new body control unit, only problem is that these are on backorder with landrover with no indication of when they will be back in stock. I have been told that there is a problem with these units and that until it is resolved there will be...

Hi all I hope someone can help with my problem. I have an 03 model TD5 with 48k on the clock, for no apparent reason everything on the instrument cluster has stopped working, no gauges and no warning lights at all. only thing that does light up is the srs airbag light on startup. Water in passenger footwell

Dont know what year/spec yours is but i had the same problem a while ago, changed screen and then found out ti was the aircon drains blocked which then causes all the water created by the aircon to come into the car through the lowest air vents which are the ones either side of the centre...

    Gurgling sound

Its probably a bit of an airlock in your heater matrix, put control to cold before starting engine from cold. make sure coolant level is good. Run engine up to warm then switch heater to hot, this should then quickly flow water through the matrix and flush out the air with a bit of luck.

    child seats, what works???

I know its not exactly an exciting topic but someone else must have had the same problems as me. We have 3 kids, two on just booster cushions who are 8 and 6 and a third who is 22 months and too big for a baby/toddler seat so we need one of the seats of the type that has a harness built in but...
