hi every one problems again when starting in morning pump wines and truck misses like mad for about 4 secs and then is ok like ther is air in the system.. and inbetween 2500rpm to 4000rpm it misses to. its had new fuel pipes that go to fuel pump its had new fuel pump to fuel filter..so took it to mcdonalds landrover in oswestry to fix it they put new air flow meter on and injector orings and washers crank sensor.. and said it was sorted only to go to it again in the morning and still does the same as when it was b4 it went there.. also had new ijector loom to .. it doesent do it as much when the tank is full but the miss through the rev range is always there when hot but when cold no sighn of it please help problems with the missing in the morning and pump wining only started after chainging fuel pipes about 3 days later... please help
its cost me 340 pound in mcdonalds so far with no change also loss of performance to...does go into limp home mode to sumtimes....
 
Was going to suggest injector loom but see that you have done that ?
Let us know when you bottom it out ****er spending dosh and not getting sorted !

You mention you have had the injector harness changed. I have changed mine but still have residual oil flowing down the engine harness and onto the red plug. I have cleaned it 3 times now and still have some oil.

You could still have a contaminated plug that will take time to clear and maybe oil actually inside the ECU.

If the pump is whining it is fairly likely that there is air getting into the pump somehow so you may have a slight leak on the feed pipe to the pump or the pump itself may be a bit past it.
 
hi just had the same problem .car would start up fine run ok and then after 20 seconds or so start miss firing or hunting for fuel.Engineer come put a pressure gauge in line on the fuel line and check it.at revs it appeared ok but at tick over the needle was not visable ,it was all over the place. fitted new fuel pump in tanks and it as been ok since.Only been done 2 days so i supose there is still time for it to go wrong again.but ok at the moment.try and get the pressure read on the fuel line at tick over and when reving.

It still sounds like injector harness to me. Did you flush out the harness between the plug in the head and the ECU?? You need about a litre of meths and a small funnel, takes about half an hour to flush. Make an opening in the plastic insulation at the top of the loom to get the funnel nozzle in and pour the meths in. You have to get rid of all that oil that has accumulated in there during the past few years. Replacing the injector harness in the head doesn't fix it. You also need to get a can of electrical contact cleaner and flush the harness plugs out completely, plus the connector on the ECU.

hi up to now its had injector seals and washers new fuel pump rear fuel pipes as one rubbed and birst new filter head new fuel filter injector harness no oil presant now in plug.. crank sensor airflow meter sensors cleaned in manifold and airbox with brake cleaner oils changed.. and still no change no one seems to know ive got loss of bottem end power air getting in fuel system when standing missing like a kangaroo when hot and when driving but not when cold it seems im just going round in circles with no joy im scratchin my head and no one knows whats wrong with it...... plz help any one
 
When you say missing like a kangaroo when hot do you mean it is actually jumping and juddering or do you mean it is like somebody is blocking and then unblocking the fuel supply so you lose power and then suddenly get it back again? If it feels like the latter, try fitting a new coolant temp sensor. Mine was faulty and instead of going into default mode it kept powering in and out at random. New one fitted (£15.88) and no probs since.
 
tried still same did yours put any faults up in diagnostics???? found a leak today on right side engine bay cant see wer its coming from fuel pressure regulator i think not sure?????? would that cause my problems ??????
 
hi, this happened to mine, tried new harness , pump, etc, it turned out to be the turbo waste gate actuator arm on top of turbo. its a common problem ive been told , it seizes and gives these symptoms. take the metal heat sheild off the turbo, you will see the arm on a pivot, soak in wd 40 and rock it to and fro to free it up. worth a try.mike.
 
done that months ago free as a bird and looked at it today when reving noticed exhaust gasses coming from it ????? the actuater arm that is wer it conects to turbo?????
 
i think the waste gate opens a flap to release gases, it might not be opening inside, some one on here will know more about turbos?
