Puma 110 Utility - rear protection

Yes - thanks. I actually bought one of this mats a while back and I'll probably lay that over the top of what I'm hoping to put down. Unfortunately the mat does extend up the sides of the wheel arches or over the tops - so they're still exposed.

Puma 110 Utility - rear protection

Hi everyone. I have a 2014 Defender 110 Utility that use for work, etc. I've been meaning to add some protection to the rear load area as I occasionally use it for logs and other heavy, unstable items that might damage the sides and floor of the load area. For the floor I've been looking at...

110 Utility - Rear passenger door not locking/opening

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me diagnose this. 2014 110 Defender Utility. Rear n/s passenger door seems to be intermittently failing to lock/open. I've read about the likelihood of there being a broken wire in the door shut but there does seem to be an electric supply as it's...

    110 Utility rear step issue

Hi Tim. Many thanks, that explanation clears it up for me. Shame that the people that I bought the step from - or LR themselves - couldn’t explain it the same way to me, or at all to be honest! I’m more likely to go with the nuts, bolts and washers route, I think! It’s a job for this weekend...

    110 Utility rear step issue

No, that’s not mine but mine will pretty much look the same when I fit it. I was thinking of grinding the two lugs down/off to make the bracket flush but wanted to see if they all sit this way as it just looks wrong to me. I didn’t want to grind the lugs down and then find that I’ve ruined the...

    110 Utility rear step issue

Hi. Thanks very much for your offer. I can probably just feed the bolts through the cross member and put the nut on the outside. I’m still just not sure about those two upright lugs though - they look like they’ll do the crossmember damage when I apply pressure to the step(?)

    110 Utility rear step issue

Presumably I’ll have to buy the tool that you need to fit the rivnuts also(?). Can anyone post a pic of theirs and how it sits on the underside of the crossmember? Thanks!

    110 Utility rear step issue

Ok thanks. Will I have to get specific rivnuts from LR or can I source them from somewhere else? Thanks.

    110 Utility rear step issue

Hi Tim, thanks. There’s a fixings and fastenings place near where I live, I’ll try them for some riv nuts. Do you know about those two vertical metal posts near the back of the fixing brackets? They prevent the brackets sitting flat on the underside in the rear cross member and look like...

    110 Utility rear step issue

Hi. I have a 2014 110 Utility. I’ve managed to get hold of a new LR rear single spring loaded step for the back to improve access to the rear. The problem is that, on trying to fit the step, I notice that there are two vertical metal lugs towards the rear of each bracket that holds the pedal...

    Suspension question

Hi everyone. I have a 2016 Defender 90 which has been 'fettled' with in order to make it more road-friendly and 'sporty'. I bought the car from a well-known company who specialise in this. Part of this process was to swap out the OEM suspension for Bilstein B6 dampers and different springs with...

    Landy 90 security query

"Anyway - sorry to derail the ops thread - best security is to have better security than the landrover down the road from you so they take that one instead!" Not at all - this is all interesting stuff! And that's exactly what I'm going to do. There's a 1980's Landy 90 Hardtop 'round the corner...

    Landy 90 security query

Hi Guys. Thanks for all the replies (so far). As I say in the OP, I'm afraid that I'm all too aware how apparently easily most vehicles seem to be stollen these days. I was in a brand new, tech-laden Range Rover Sport a year or so back (quite a transition, eh..?) but, despite living in a low...

    Landy 90 security query

Hi there. I'm the proud owner of a '16 Reg Defender 90 SW. Had her from new - so just coming up to two years of ownership. I'm getting increasingly paranoid about security. To keep it brief, I realise that there's probably no magic fix for preventing having your Defender nicked these days. I'm...

Defender 2.2 (MY 16) - DIY oil and filter change

Thanks. Yes, I need a Haynes for it - can't seem to find it on Amazon though (...?) It's on the Haynes website at full price though. Just read your post on how to extinguish the Oil Service message. Why oh why didn't I post here before I got stung by my Stealer??!! Doooooh!! They did me for £162...

Defender 2.2 (MY 16) - DIY oil and filter change

Thanks - that's what I hope to do but can you point me at any DIY links or articles regarding an oiled filter change for this 2.2? Cheers. Adrian.

Defender 2.2 (MY 16) - DIY oil and filter change

Thanks Mike. Yes, this would be a mid-service oil and filter change. Afraid I'm old school like that!

Defender 2.2 (MY 16) - DIY oil and filter change

Hello. I have a March 2016 Defender 90 2.2. I'm used to doing plenty of DIY stuff to my cars but haven't got 'round to sussing out how to do a DIY engine oil and oil filter change on this yet. I only do around 5k a year in the car and that's also mostly short journeys. Briefly, my 'Oil...

    Hello.....and help! (Urban Truck query)

Hello all! I'll keep it brief as I'm not too sure how this type of request will sit with some fans of the Defender and also whether this is the appropriate area to be asking this question. I've just got out of a MY14 Range Rover Sport (it just wasn't me......plus the build quality was pretty...

Newbe saying hello & Defender 2.4 County advice please!

Hi everyone! This is my first post as I'm about to enter the world that is Defender ownership! To be brief; I've got my sights on a 59 plate Defender 90 2.4 Hardtop with less than 10k miles on it. Private sale. I've messed around with cars all my life but have never owned something like this...
