    OSF Window Motor

Hi guys, my drivers window has stopped working and I suspect it's the motor (no grinding noises - window just went up one day and won't come back down, fuse is fine). I wonder if it's due to the extra strain of closing the window passed the wind deflectors? I've had the door card off and the...

    Bell Engineering VCU Test

Out of interest as i couldnt find the info when I was looking, my garages labour charge was somewhere around 1.5 hours to fit the new vcu when complete with bearings from Bell.

    Bell Engineering VCU Test

I didn't take it up to Bell in the end as along with the tightness soon came a rumble and vibration so I figured driving it up there would only do more potential damage. I did get a VCU from them this week though and it's totally transformed how the car feels in reverse. I think I now know the...

What have you done to your Freelander today

This week I have 'treated' the freelander to a recon vcu from Bell Engineering, and a new set of Grabber UHPs. It drives like a completely different car with the new VCU fitted, I can actually reverse park it on full lock now without either a) stalling it or b) feeling like I was driving...

    15" Road Tyres

I need to chuck new tyres on all 4 corners but have no idea which ones to get. I've read loads of tyre posts here, but most seem to be for off-roading or at least green laning, but mine is currently road use only. The size on there at the mo are 195/80/R15, but they're all mismatched across...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I ordered some dehumidifier bags for the dash today as I'm fed up of waiting hours for the windscreen to dry and clear in the mornings. Not sure they'll work, but figured it's worth a try...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Finally got my V5 through from DVLA today... and shocked to see my freelander's had 11 owners in 11 years  Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence!

    Door lock key

I tried using the uncoded key with the door fob today - and found the door fob is just that. It unlocks the doors and doesn't immobilise unlike the guy from the key cutting place said. Looks like I could do with getting a coded key sorted sometime, but won't be bothering with the door unlock...

    Door lock key

I've only got one key and fob for mine but went and got an uncoded key cut today - the bloke in there said that I can use the uncoded key with the fob, and just keep the original coded key as a spare....He reckoned that both the coded key and fob have immobiliser chips in them - I haven't had...

    Bell Engineering VCU Test

Cheers guys, I'll give em a call and get it booked in for a check up :) I've only been here 5 mins but it's a lot like the mg forums I usually frequent in that same complaining way

    Bell Engineering VCU Test

I got pretty much no service history (other than looking up all previous MOTs) when I bought my Freelander just over a month ago. So far all seems to be mostly ok, but it's done around 75k miles and I've no idea whether the VCU has ever been replaced. The only symptom that makes me slightly...

    Td4 Coolant change + flush

I was told that running the car with a crushed dishwasher tablet added to the coolant tank for 100 or so miles helps to clean any crap out before flushing and replacing the OAT - that was on an MG forum though, so not sure if it may be different with Freelanders...

I have seen it all now...

 if that's a minor dent, I'd hate to see a major one! And as for the colour?! I'm a girl, and I would never be seen within a million miles of a pink car and can't understand anyone who would :wtf:

What have you done to your Freelander today

I thought I'd take a look at the small rust patch on the drivers door only to find once I started hacking the paint off, that it's a bit bigger than I thought :( I've chucked a load of kurust on it for now and will prime/paint it tomorrow if it stays dry.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted my stereo then washed and polished for the first (and probably last ) time, rainex'd the windows then I loosened, copper greased and re-tightened all the wheel nuts to a more appropriate torque. I intended looking for my coolant leak, but didn't get around to it... I was also going...

What have you done to your Freelander today

    Another newbie saying hello

I picked up my 2001 Freelander about 10 days ago - it came with little service history other than the previous MOTs & advisories that I've looked up online - and I'm astonished to say that despite my expectations, it hasn't broken down on me yet! I've got a K series engine in my other...
