Got a standard armstrong one on mine. Don't know why you would need a RTC unless you have big ass tyres and off road a lot?? If set up correctly, the steering should return to center when driving on road anyway.

I fitted a new one and found the same - thought I still had a problem until I adjusted the blue ring. The slots face up and down and the rib points towards the indicator stalk. No other adjustment was required. On your Youtube video the ring is 180 deg out.

Spend £300 on an old fiesta with 6 months tax so you got something to ride round in, then do it yourself! In terms of what else to replace - it really depends on what else needs replacing. Best way to find out is, as I said above, do it yourself :) if parts look gone and if you can't repair...

Great re-build thread - nice to see a lot of work on restoring the engine. I may have missed something, but is it a pickup now?!

I believe new calipers are required due to the extra thickness. I've heard some people avoid vented brakes on a Defender due to dirt getting into the grooves. If it's extra braking power you need, have you checked all the components are working correctly?

Thanks Dover, sounds like you had the exact same issue as me. I've changed the cyclone breather with no positive effect, so it's looking more likely to be an injector change.

Thanks all for the thoughts. It's also been suggested to me that it might be the cyclone breather, so I plan to change that today as it was only £12. I'll also run some injector cleaner through the next tank of fuel. I've read the thread posted above (thanks for the link) and it seems their...
