Thanks for that i took the floor back out removed the rubber boot and then i did manage to get it in to high gear. The high / low gear lever needed bending slightly to stop it hitting the bulk head. All good now what a relief didnt fancy taking out again.

I have got a multimeter but what values should I be looking for.

I wired the balast resistor exactly the same as the old one came off. It is wired up correctly. The next thing i think i will try is putting the old balast resistor back on and see what happens.

Just replaced brake shoe and wheel rotates fine forwards but in reverse it grabs and locks the drum. I have checked every thing is assembled correctly. Just wondering if any body else has experienced this problem and how they over come it.

Does any body know what the minimum thickness a series 2a fly wheel can be skimmed down to. This is the flywheel with the starter ring gear as part of the fly wheel and the 2 locating dowels.

I have connected a bottle to the end of the breather pipe and went for a drive with plenty of welly there seems to be no breather problem as no oil in bottle. I tried some injector cleaner in the engine, I filled the fuel filter with it and took it for a run it seems to go a bit better now but...

I will try some injector cleaner at the weekend thanks.
