Smashed up my wing mirror on 2011 LE Sport, it broken the lower front plastic base and cracked the bezel. I gather the shape changed around 2011, does anyone know if 2006-2010 is basically the same other than the more convex bezel? I'm after harvesting the lower plastic bit off an old one...

So the car when in for a new gearbox sump and came back with a knackered power steering pump...turned out the leak was the O seal on the loom and not the sump - but anyway.. I swapped the PAS pump back in Feb and noticed it was noisy when hot. Bled it through multiple times and kept seeing...

All sorted in the end - £12 for a new bolt and nut delivered, £130 for the strut. Would have been £500+ at a independent even if one was open - I had one done on the 3.0 L322. Car leveled up fine - no issues. I wouldn't expect the other side to be such and issue as generally rust is passenger...

Just waiting on a new bolt, tyre back on last night and its still up this morning. Tried pulling shaft out and no movement, will try the left/right etc once we up and running. No oil evidenced to be leaking now level but it might be empty :)

Its back in and won't pull back out - lets hope it doesn't decide to let go at some point. Struts on , air connected just need a new bolt and see if it leaks and levels up. .

Yeah the whole job should be 2 hrs tops - feck im on day 3 on/off. Lets hope the othersides ok for a bit.

Gez this job just keeps giving. Look like couple of probs :) Drive shaft has come out with all the effort to get the bolt out. How the feck do you knock that back in? Second issue it came out and no oil, although the car is jacked one side.

Daft question but how do you remove the damper bolt on the old one, assume best done in insitu? The new one doesn’t come with it’s I guess it need swapping over

One session this morning and 30 mins of heat over three attempts this evening with wd down when red hot and it’s shifted. Been soaking all night and day.

It’s had the bar. It’s quite awkward to get at the bottom bolt with the caliper in the way. That was off in Feb so at least i know that shifted easily in comparison. struts been on since 08 so I guess it could be rusted as one. why is it always the passenger side front that goes. Had same on...

I did get a tiny turn on the bar earlier. it’s soaking now and it will have a liberal amount of heat in the morning. bloody half shafts come out now

Had another go must be rusted solid in middle. heat impact hammer sprayed it, will see if it shifts tomorrow

That’s just the thread on the nut side. Bolt on other side not moved a mm and won’t turn. There is no thread other side but it’s slightly wider . Never known out like it. Access poor other side due to brake hoses etc.

Only weight really is the strut. Had top bolt back in. Whole thing will pivot back and forth on that bolt. It’s just won’t move, heat, pen the lot. Been smacking the a large hammer. Can only assume it must be bent or seized solid it will not turn.

Been beating on the bottom bolt of the suspension strut. Will not shift for love or money. Any ideas? Top came out easily and nut is off.
