Knocking from front after propshaft removal

I removed my propshaft because of a droning noise. It seems to be the propshaft bearings which are now on order. While the propshaft is off I took the Freelander for a spin and was getting a knocking noise on acceleration and when cornering from the front. When I stopped to investigate the...

    Fitted center diff mount today

After experiencing a loud thud at the rear when changing from 1st to 2nd I did some research and discovered it was probably the rear diff center mount. To check I jacked up the rear and turned one of the rear wheels, as the diff started to work I could see the whole unit move about 3 inches...

    Dronning noise!

I had exactly the same with mine. Same sort of noise, I thought it was prop shaft bearings. Checked the tyre pressure and the rears were both at 15PSI each. Pumped them up and the noise went away. :o

    Hi LandyZone

Hi Everyone, new Freelander owner here. I have never owned a 4x4 before and my 2001 Freelander ES TD4 is my first experience. After several years of owning a leaky Renault Scenic we had decided to purchase a Freelander to carry the family, childrens seats, prams... etc. Anyway a week...
