    Crank thrust bearings?

I have been recommissioning a 3 bearing 2 1/4 petrol engine only to find the main bearing shells are shot. While in bits I looked at the thrust washers. 3 questions I have are 1, Which way round are the thrust washers supposed to be? 2, One of the washers has +5 on it, is this the .005 that is...

    Which wheel cylinders?

Hi folks, Could anyone tell me how to tell the difference between brake wheel cylinders? I have a bitsa that has not been on the road for a few years and was going to swap the wheel cylinders as a precaution but which ones do I order? The fronts have 1 1/2 inch moulded into them if this helps...

    What to do!

Getting hold of the tooth rail that runs along the top of the windsceen and the infills above the doors can be a problem with fitting a full tilt, but the full tilt is obviously a lot easier to convert to topless and easier to store a rag top than a load of bodywork.

    Bonnet pull cable length?

Thats great thanks. I think I need about 1.6m/64" so one of those will be great. If its too long I can always cut it down but stretching it would be a little more problematic. Thanks again. Malc.

    shark teeth for tilt

It might be worth throwing a tape measure across the screens. I think the series 1 is slightly narrower than the series 3, but don't take my word for it, There will be somebody on here who knows for definite.

    Marine Blue Paint

I got mine from a supplier on line. I ordered "Aircraft Blue" thinking it would be something like the blue the airforce used but it turned out more like a royal blue. I used it anyway and now its looking good. I was told I would need about 3 litres by a car sprayer friend but it was better...

    Popping Ignition Coils?

surely the orientation of the coil would not make a difference and any air inside would be at the top whichever way up the coil was fixed(being lighter than oil). The coil is obviously getting too hot, But why? The first coil I can understand, being left switched on overnight, but the other two...

Hi folks I have just had my third ignition coil explode on me! I was trying to set the ignition and timing up and left the ignition on whilst doing it. Totally clueless, just bought one on ebay, 1979-1980??

A possible problem appears to be the chassis plate is missing! Unless you have that separate. It should be fixed to the bulkhead by the gear lever next to the red and black information plate and have the chassis number stamped on it. This should match up with the chassis number stamped on the...
