You can either turn pump down by screw at back of pump 1/4 turn or retard your timing by taking cover of of timing housing slacken x3 10mm bolts and turn pump sprocket back a little with a 22mm socket (I think) mark it all first as there is only a small amount of adjustment. Only takes 5 mins...

Yes it is stright ahead, that's what confusing me, I could understand if not stright as something may have slipped but dead stright, as I say 2 full turns of steering wheel to left and only 1 to the right
Not that I can see, I initially thought that I may have rounded one of the linkages but there is no play when enging off and attempting to steer, would have thought it would have slipped again under pressure
Hi guys, got a problem with the steering on my 90 defender, steering has been fine for 5 years, out green lanin today and cannot achieve full right hand lock, well when wheels are stright I get 2 full turns of steering wheel to left but only 1 full turn to the right, so have very little right...
Ok, so I have been reading quite a few threads and have found one which states a rumbling noise and rear braking on over run, these are the exact symptoms I have, James Martin said pinion bearing as I have also been told, question is what are the chances of me having the same problem with two...
Ok, so I have increased tyre pressures to 40psi, and fault still there but not as bad ( ? Not as much resistance), it's like the rear wheels are not as free running and braking the vehicle slightly, i checked wheel bearings and seem ok, only other thing I noticed is there is slight play on a...
I am going to try and swap wheels just to ellinamite but don't think it is as is very intermittent, it never happens at an exact speed or on a specific road, makes no diffrence if it's wet or dry, if there was a slight pattern then maybe I could point to tyres, will try though as another...

Cheers guys. As i said everything has been replaced, adjuster, springs, drum, shoes, cable, linkage etc which is why I thought of just replacing the whole lot for the disco300tdi one. Sorry not sure if it makes a difference but mine is a 200 tdi defender?
Hi guys, I've had a look but cannot find the answer I'm looking for so I do apologise if this subject has been covered.
The handbrake on my 1990 defender is rubbish despite replacing every part, when it works it ends up getting stuck on etc, i was wondering if I could replace the whole unit...
