    I'm back..!!!

Hello all, I've been away for quite a while so thought that I would re-introduce myself. After a few Discovery Commercial shenanigans I find myself with a Hippo Sport. Been quite pleased so far, nice drive and tows the trailer pretty well. Only problem seems to insuring the thing - more than...

300TDi Commercial, years MOT but suspected HGF

So final straw with the Disco was a head gasket. Loads done and I'm not doing any more. Probably the last thing that will need doing to it but I've run out of time, money so it's going to the highest bidder. More info, photos and whatnot in the coming days. Here on the eBay

Bit of a 300TDi timing question.

I changed the timing belt yesterday - took me a lot longer than anticipated as the crank pulley really didn't want to let go,bolts snapped on puller, etc, etc. In the end the old Landy rule of hit it with a hammer, and if that don't work get a bigger hammer, did the trick. Anyhow, ended up...

Changing a Disco's taxation class from 'Limited Use'

Hey all, been a while! I'm going to look at a Discovery tomorrow. It's currently classed as limited use, I just want to check that there are no issues reclassifying it as PLG (or whatever). Fanks in advance. Dom

Yeah, all of the above on ebay at 99p start. Six Michelin XZLs 16/7.50 in varying conditions from just about okay to very good. One of them is on a Landy steel with an inner tube (I think). Two Conway C-TRAX MT 205 R16 with 5/6mm tread on Landy steels One Landy steel A Series 2.25 oil...

    Upping the ratios

Here's a bit of a dilemma. I want to up the gearing on my '71 2a 109 2 1/4 diesel. I've currently got an overdrive fitted that screams like a banshee when the gearbox oil warms up (after 1/2 and hour driving). There is also some slack in the transmission (done the diff and UJs) and it is...

Might have taken Morton Ford a bit quick...

I took Itchy down to Morton Ford in the week. I was a bit keen to wash all the brake fluid off the hubs but might have been a bit too quick on my crossing... Did a bit of service yesterday and look what I found in the oil bath.

    Fairey Overdrive on eBlag

I got this as part of a job lot of parts and have no need for it. It came from a trusted source and he said that he thinks it's all good... Bare unit only, no linkages and the like. On ebay as I'm not sure what it is worth without the linkages. Feel free to make me an offer though. It's HERE...

    Battery tray fitting

So, one of the (few) things that Itchy failed the MOT on was the battery not being secure. Rather than heath robinson some kind of contraption in place I decided to invest in a rather nice battery tray from YRM - not cheap but saved me loadsa time I don't have. So, got the tray in with very...

    Itchy's brake issues part two

So I got the brakes bled and took Itchy for the MOT today (only one page of failure notes, not as bad as expected). I was a little late and had missed my spot but they had another in an hour. I was going to drive up to town for lunch but the brakes had locked on - it wouldn't roll down the slope...

Bit of a 'daft' electrickery question

So, brake lights work find and rear lights work fine. Side lights on, press brake and n/s rear light goes out. Other brake light is fine. I'm going to check the earth once I've had enough of dicking about with the brakes but has anyone got other ideas..?
