Hello all,

I've been away for quite a while so thought that I would re-introduce myself.

After a few Discovery Commercial shenanigans I find myself with a Hippo Sport. Been quite pleased so far, nice drive and tows the trailer pretty well. Only problem seems to insuring the thing - more than twice the price of a heavily modified Disco.

Here's the Hippo saying hello...

Try the confused dot com comparison site for insurance

Tried confoosed, compare the meerkat, go compare and a few others; They all came within a gnats spat of each other at four hundrid and fifty squids...!

Adrian Flux originally came in at over £900. With a few calls and a fair bit of badgering it came down to £500 including relay breakdown. Still a bit fecking dear but the best I coiuld get and needed it now. Is this a sign that everything is about to get a wee bit expensives?

The biggest price drop in the negotations is when we added some modifications to the specification. So I'm going to be having to get smaler wheels and bigger tyres, a suspension lift (how?), snork (for dust, I heard the doors fall off Hippos if you get 'em wet), eggsauce and induction stuffs.

I have had more difficulties insuring Freelander's with mods than without. More insurance companies are moving away from mods and will only insure standard. Some just refuse unless they're eggstra's factory fitted at build. The best time to look for insurance is 3 weeks before renewal according to martin lewis at mse. Appreciate it was last minute for you this time. Pays to look about in advance. I looked at confused over a number of days. When finally going for admiral i got login details for my admiral insurance and seen they had on record every quote i'd done on confused. So they knew i was looking around.

Hi there and welcome!
Does a landyzone sticker count as a mod?
Some insurance companies don't like stickers. Park a car with football stickers in a different teams area and its got a betterer chance of getting damaged. As long as yer stickers aint causing a hazard to driving view i assume them ok.
