Thought HDC was the work round for not giving the freelander a low range gearbox? Didn't some early disco 2's not have low range hence the hdc fitment? Latest stuff has it because, again, no low range.

My comments referred to the pipes in the wheelarch although that appears not clear in my previous posts. I was just stating what I saw when my mine played up not on the entire routing of the pipes. Apologies for any upset caused.

Good for you. As I said in my first post on MINE both pipes are in the nsr wheelarch.

Pipes ran down passenger side to rear wheelarch then crossed over.

Mine had both running down the passenger side and when my exhaust melted the pipe that crosses to.the os couldn't really see it as it runs over the top of a small cross member. I had to disconnect it from.the os bag and pull the pipe out to see the split. Mine had been repaired before and had 3...

Inertia switch?

It already has a bypass relay fitted for trailer lights and the remaining caravan ones can be fed direct from battery using self activating charge relay. Remove 7 pin plug and fit 13 in its place.

Why not just convert the 7pin to 13? Admittedly that is not pretty but if it works just run the extra wires for the caravan electrics only a couple of lives and an earth anyway and use a cheap ebay charge relay.

Mine plays up randomly and a good dousing through the little holes underneath the switches with contact cleaner restores it for a few months

Interesting there was me thinking a nice new Land Rover part would be the best choice and it appears a second hand one might be better... thanks for the advice I think I will take it apart now then if the new ones aren't that good.

Think the door lock may have caused my flat battery initially. When I was trying eka, kept getting door open message even though door was shut. Might try a strip and clean as a new one is £160 and a second hand one will be the same age as mine and probably on borrowed time anyway. Will keep you...

All sorted! Checked microswitches in drivers door and lock switch was sticky. Gave it some exercise (!) and I was able to resynch remote. New door lock required then! Thanks for all the advice once again.

Lol thats what I thought, however it appears the only way to find out if its locked is to plug it in......

Should there be a confirmation when you are entering the code as there seems to be conflicting info on this. Can't see any reaction from the car when attempting eka but when I was fiddling with the door lock it suddenly came up keycode lockout again so I assume the bcm is receiving something.

Just had a chat with a local repairer, he has Nanocom but he says if the settings have changed (France, LHD etc) he is unable to reset them and my only solution is 2nd hand bcm and locks. I have experience with diagnostics but the kit I have access to ( Bosch) won't give me access obviously...

Before you condemn anything you need to see what you are getting at the starter motor. Check all lives/ earths whilst attempting to start.

I know people say it can't be done but I have a key with seperate remote that works a treat, came from Avon Diagnostics. Guy I bought it from is a mobile locksmith and can do me another key for £50 sonit can be done.
