will a rear salisbury axle with discs fit on a 1985 110 chassis?

I currently have a rear salisbury axle fitted with drum brakes and it's pretty worn down. Can I fit a 1990 salisbury rear axle with discs to a 1985 110 CSW chassis with drum brakes? And if so, will I need to convert anything or is it a straight fit? Hope someone knows the answer!

what engine mount rubbers to use with Isuzu engine in 110?

Hi everyone, I've got an Isuzu 2.8 TD sitting in my 1986 110. It's resting on Ford Transit rubber mounts. They're slightly softer than the Land Rover ones, but still transmit a lot of vibrations to the chassis (and the driver!). Can someone point me to the right type of rubber mounts to use...

how do I disengage the ignition switch from the steering lock?

Hi guys, I need to replace the ignition switch on my 1985 n/a diesel 110 steering lock-and-barrel. I've taken the whole assembly off the steering column, but can't seem to get the switch that holds the spade ends and connects to the wires lose from the lock assembly. Should I just pull hard...

Do I need an engine mounted cooling fan for Morocco?

Hi everyone who replied to this thread! I'm back from Morocco and the engine never even needed the fan. Amazingly, even driving 60 mph in 56 centigrade the engine kept nice and cool. It's a 2.8 Isuzu turbodiesel from 1989, but obviously built for dire conditions. Rambling about the Moroccan...

Do I need an engine mounted cooling fan for Morocco?

Thanks guys, helpful replies all round! My LR has an Isuzu 2.8 TD engine so I guess I'll have to do some serious searching for the original fan and fan clutch! Otherwise, I'll just risk it (I've got an override switch fitted). Best, Bram

Do I need an engine mounted cooling fan for Morocco?

Hi, I'm travelling to Morocco this summer and only have an electrical (auxiliary) cooling fan installed on the radiator. Will I need the engine mounted fan with fan clutch as well, or will the auziliary fan suffice in the hot desert air? Hope someone has experience with this...

removing the pin-spring form an accelerator pedal

Hi guys, can anybody tell me how to remove the pin-spring form the throttle pedal? Do I have to remove the whole pedal assembly first? Or can I somehow remove the pin-spring in the pedal axle so I can replace the pedal?

    lower steering arm stuck

Hi Retroanaconda, now THAT was the golden tip. Just goes to show how little I know every time I tackle a new item in the ol' heffalump. Took out the bolts and off the UJ's came. Many thanks, Bram

    lower steering arm stuck

Thanks! I was afraid it might come to that... Guess the angle grinder is the safest option as I'm afraid the hammer blows might damage the power steering innards... Chrs, B

    lower steering arm stuck

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, hope someone can help! Someone fitted a new-model lower steering arm to my '86 110 before I bought it. There's too much play in the joints so I've purchased a new (older model collapsible) lower steering arm with upper and lower joints and bolts but... although...
