    Defender tyre rub

Hi, I've got a 200tdi defender with the later freestyle alloys. The hubs stick out a bit because of this. I decided to change my tyres to get some beefier ones in. I've gone from 225 75's to 235 85's so I've not gone for anything daft. However, they now rub on the front radius arm on full...

Defender 90, pickup to station wagon

I need the bits to change it first. Don't fancy an open cab in winter!

Defender 90, pickup to station wagon

The problem is getting the right price for mine, I paid a lot for mine and don't want to lose too much money. The insurance would actually be cheaper as I can only find so many places that will insure it as a car for me. Van insurance is still daylight robbery due to my age.

Defender 90, pickup to station wagon

Hi, I'm umming and arring about changing my defender or not. One plan is to change it from a pickup to a station wagon. Has anyone got any experience in this? Looking for pitfalls, things to consider, prices, time etc It's a 90 so I'm not expecting having to change the rear tub...

Defender, bad synchro or bad dealer

I know it was a lot but it is a mint example. Chassis has never been welded, don't think its ever seen a muddy field. Bought it with a mind to keep as a future classic

Defender, bad synchro or bad dealer

I've been looking at swapping my 200tdi defender for a newer defender or a disco 3. Went to dealer and about to part ex for a disco when just before I signed the paperwork they decided they needed a test drive of mine. So, they went out and came back saying the gears crunched going down from...

    Series 3, 2.25 or 2.3

Fair enough I still maintain that the 2.25 and 2.3 are different cc's though after checking the Land Rover Ownership magazine

    Series 3, 2.25 or 2.3

They never attached a 2.25 to a 90/110 did they? When they started in 1984(?) they came with the 2.5. Or of course the stage 1 V8 with the 3.5

    heater upgrade

My series 3 has the heater taken from a defender. Works quite well, they did do a messy job of fitting in into the wing though, once the bonnet is up it looks like they probably used a hammer and a pair of mole grips

    Series 3, 2.25 or 2.3

I have a series 3 2.3 petrol. I have always thought series 3's are a 2.3 but seem to see a lot of series 3's described as 2.25. Looking at the cc's, a series 3 has around 2286cc and a series 2/2a has a 2245ish cc engine. Does anyone know why then series 3's get described as 2.25's as it makes no...

    which to get?

Seems like it turned out to be a decent one. Just had its first MOT, needed a tiny bit of welding, brake pipes and a few bits and bobs.

    series 3 petrol starting issues

My lack of faith in my charger was justified, after looking at everything it could possibly be, a new battery sorted it out straight away

    series 3 petrol starting issues

Cheers for the advice, I'll have a look in the morning. I did try tapping the starter as I heard they can jam. I don't think there is any ignition light, don't remember seeing one on it. The wiring is a bit of a mess round the ignition barrel but I can't see anything that's unplugged. I'd be...

I know this has probably been covered before, But I'm having starting problems with my landy. She's been stood a few weeks and now won't start. When I turn the key nothing happens but I can turn the lights, fan etc on. I charged the battery but I don't have total faith in the charger I...

    Free wheeling hub problems

Cheers for the info. Had a go and it all seems to work as it should. Thinks its just my understanding of the 4x4 system that was wrong, expected all wheels to turn when I put my foot down
