As above the orange hill descent warning light has appeared on its own what's the likely cause ? Also will a generic code reader work on a 1999 td5 or does it need to be more specialised ? Thanks

Hi my tdi has a rattle from the engine on cold start up, cant identify exactly where it comes from, but it disapears after a few minutes once the engine starts to warm. There also seems to be a slight shuddering on warm tickover? where do i start, injectors, valve clearances ?
