Disco 2 tow bar to use existing sankey

Hi I've been running a Disco 2 with a NATO hitch for about 8 years. The Disco had a standard LR tow bar attached when I bought it but I found a genuine LR North American spec 2" receiver hitch for sale on EBay and grabbed it. A quick visit to a metal bashing shop and hey presto an...

    Other 12v tyre inflators recommendations?.

x2 for the T-Max. Been performing for over 5 years with no problem. I've fitted an Anderson socket to the front grill and the compressor to save time lifting the bonnet, removing the battery cover, connecting croc clips etc. Just always use with the engine running as it pulls about 45Amp.

Disco 2 Highly priced car. Values?

QCT are just round the corner from me and I bought an old MX5 from them many years ago. They do seem to only source cars in cracking condition having had a look round their place. The MX5 is still going strong.

    2002 td5

Hi there, These are always difficult to sort out. I've had problems with both boxes over the years but difficult to relate to yours. First the main gearbox started to sound like a bag of spanners OK when on load or foot down but as soon as you lifted your foot off you had to take it out of gear...

    Disco 2 One hell of a clunk/grind

Check your tyres aren't hitting the radius arms at full lock. Happens when you change suspension sometimes as it rides at a different height.

    Disco 2 Immobilization suggestions please

Evening all, A few years back I bought a tracking device off FleaBay and lo and behold just this week got round to fitting it. Nice bit of kit which will tell me where the car is when I ring it. It also has a feed via a relay so I can cut the power to something which will stop the car. The...

    Tow bar light

Yes I have Land Rover trailer electrics wired in and the trailer light only lights up on ignition when trailer plug is in and flashes when trailer is connected and indicators are on.

Disco 2 Just changed my front wheel bearings WOW!

Hi Wammers Don't understand use of ''OP's''. What does it mean. Never broken down. My reason to post was to prevent people breaking down. Wheel bearing being an advisory for so long meant either it wasn't a problem or all wheel bearings have slight play as I was assuming because it never...

Disco 2 Just changed my front wheel bearings WOW!

Had my Disco for about 5 years now and the off-side front wheel bearing has been an advisory on 4 out of the last 5 years. Been carrying round a spare for about a year and been to Morocco last year and this year the mountains of northern Portugal for about 2500 miles. 30 miles from home the 3...

    Disco 2 Strange engine noise

Do you happen to put your foot on the brake pedal as you start the engine? Sounds like the ABS clunk to me.

Disco 2 Is it safe to imobilise the fuel pump?

Sierrafery you're a star. What would we do without you. Thanks for reply.

Disco 2 Is it safe to imobilise the fuel pump?

Was thinking of doing the immobilising when I parked it in an iffy place. Wouldn't ring this device up every time I parked it to cut the fuel pump.

Disco 2 Is it safe to imobilise the fuel pump?

Just ordered a GPS / GPRS tracking system for my Disco. It will tell me by SMS when it moves, where it is etc. One of the features is an output which can be switched by a phone call to the device. My first question is, is it safe to cut power to the fuel pump when the vehicle is moving. This is...

Disco 2 Fitting a snorkel to my td5

Sorry for saying silicone. Its my catch all phrase for waterproof 'stuff'. Vilguy is dead right. Can't remember what the correct name for the stuff is but it doesn't screw up the MAF sensor like silicone does.

Disco 2 Fitting a snorkel to my td5

Scared myself s**tless when I did the job drilling huge holes in my precious Disco but looking back it was a doddle. If you have a proper template and a sharp circular bit which is a damn sight cheaper than paying someone else to do the job you'll feel chuffed when you've done it. Don't forget...

Disco 2 Not happy - not happy at all!

Oh boy! You gave it away in the first line. 6 months, 6 MONTHS. Most Disco 2 owners know that is the 'getting to know you' phase. Disco 2's have an uncanny knack of waiting until a new owner is 'comfortable' or in your case (unfortunately even worse than comfortable) 'confident'...

Disco 2 Ordered a new crank sensor? Renew it or keep as spare?

I understand that need for belt and braces. Yes it is the only sensor that stops it stone dead with no way round so having 'one in the boot' is piece of mind for me in the middle of nowhere. Don't change it if you don't have to, but make sure you know how to if it goes.

    Torque Performance Rock Bumper

Have had front bumper for over 3 years along with their tree sliders. Have fitted the rear bumper with NAS lights in the past 6 months. The front bumper took the brunt of a motorbike hitting the front corner when I was parked up and saved the insurance company writing it off cos the damage was...
