    Rattly Drivers window

thanks Pikey, cant get to it today but from that a guess theres one front and rear for each door, and a bet the rear's are different from the fronts. Do you have to take the whole door apart or do can they slip in from the bottom without taking the whole winder mech etc out?

    Rattly Drivers window

Hi All I've Done a quick search and can't find an answer The drivers window rattles badly when the door is slammed (sorry pushed gently!) to shut it. I looks like the lower section of guide inside the door has had it. Is there a fix? Is it one piece that goes right up or round the whole...

run a new clean earth to the ecu under the seat, find an original and double up to a new earth point, should be a spare stud in there. and earth the ecu case as well. Worked for me when mine did much the same after providing a jump start to someone else

    CSW Anti roll bar weirdness

thanks james I'll get googling on those. Any idea what the actaul differences are between the bars clamps and bushes? I can only find 1 4hole clamp surely they didnt make more than one and they fit it to front or rear as required. But does it really matter, anti roll bars seem pretty optional...

    CSW Anti roll bar weirdness

Hi All Ive searched but not found a conclusive answer... I have a 2000 (w plate) 110 CSW td5 as its mostly used on tarmac anti roll bars seemed a good idea, picked a pair up of t'internet. All the clamps bushes etc look good except the clamps only have two bolt holes. The front mounts on the...

    soldering iron?

Big Weller one 45watt i think, ancient old thing but your soldering large lumps, compared with a PCB, outside in the cold. Few bits of card or ply to stop the breeze helps. Or get one of the gas ones from screwfix - lent mine out and never got it back so it must have been good!

    Woodburning Stove

Dont know if it helps but done planning for a few a work, over 4.5kw you need building control. under that its easier. Its quite likely, depending on the building, and the jobsworthness of the BC you'll need smoke\fire detectors in some or all rooms. And they MUST be fed from an independantly...

    1st ever Defender help ??

he's being a num nut but.... TD5 only have 4 glowplugs (no idea why) so in theory (and a different univerise) he's sort of right, if a tad pedantic. He just picked up the wrong end of the stick. It should fire on all five, and you'll soon tell if it doesnt, smoke and a hellish rattle. Worth...

    Green laning cover??

By " green lane" you must mean byway open to all traffic (BOAT) Clues in the name. If your policy doesn't cover some roads where does it stop -only A road, B roads cul de sac's? If your policy doesn't cover BOATs then go to citizens advice as its fraud on part of the company to sell you cover...

    Which is best?

TD5! its almost modern. The electrics arent that bad, nothing like a rangie for example. Dead reliable and as tuneable as a tuney thing if that what you want. Hunt out one with ABS if the budget will go that far. 3 tons on a trailer and no ABS on a wet road give that warm feeling of adrenaline...

Taken a while but its been in for a re-spray now with a guy with a color meter thingy, its bronze green, limestone roof and the hinges, bumper and grill are RAL 7001 "silver grey" to hark back to the old galvanised look. Just need to touch them back in, refit the interior trim, replace the...

    Electrical issues

mine seem to meet on a tag on the let hand side of the instrument binacle where the heater speed switch is. But I also ran one from inside the bonnet just behind the clutch master to the one in the driver seatbox for the ecu (its a TD5) and from there theres one that goes direct to the battery...

shame about the bumpers - rang numbers of the blacksheep a web, land line not working but guy on the mobile said they'd stopped doing bumpers as it didnt make any financial sense. At £50 not surprised seeing the other tat around (and what Ive just paid for a bit of tin) could double that and...
