    Won't run.........Help

Try your other ignition key. Sometimes the little transducer in it can fail and this means it won't start. Worth a try, good luck.

    Rear brake issues

From memory there is a lever at the bottom of the assembly which connects to the handbrake cable. This is all visible if you take off the roadwheel and rear wheel drum. It can all appear ok but the lever may be partially operated or stuck in position. With mine I had to use an old chisel and...

    Help! Handbrake/fluid warning lamp

Make sure the handbrake is fully pushed down. The linkage within the rear brake is prone to binding especially when the weather gets wetter. You may even have to check this out if the problem persists.

    how can a td4 be a 6 seater on V5?

If the V5 says 6 seater, your insurer may have charged you more when they checked your vehicle details, ie 6 seats greater risk. Might be worth checking with them.

    Juddering at 30mph

I have exactly this problem on my 2003 Kalahari Auto. I've changed the rear diff which had too much play, all the rear diff mountings and the VCU bearings. If anything the noise, which I would describe as a thumping around the front transmission tunnel, is even louder. I tried what Gary...

    shudder , rough tick over

Hi Gary, Good to hear you. My 2003 TD4 did this and it turned out to be the fuel rail connector. I cleaned it but the fault kept coming back. You may be able to induce the problem with the engine running, by gently moving each connector in turn until it appears. I had to replace the loom in the...

    Transmission help

Update Got the car back yesterday. The workshop couldn't find any problems, I had passed your suggestions to them. The only thing they could see was a small amount of play on the front prop rearmost uj. They replaced this. The result is that the thumping sound from underneath at 30-35 mph has...

    Transmission help

Gary Thanks for the pic, I think this is the joint. At least what you're saying backs up what the workshop said in that there's not a landrover replacement part for the problem. Ta once again, Andy

    Transmission help

Austen/Gary, It passed the MOT on Saturday, no probs. I left it with the workshop this afternoon and highlighted what you had said about the CV joint. They will check this but they said they thought there weren't any serviceable parts at the front of the shaft and that it may require a new...

LH Headlight dip beam not working

This happened on my 2003 Kalahari TD4. Your fault lies in the connector you referred to. This is a push together unit. You'll probably find that it has slightly separated, the little claw catch may even be broken. Push the 2 sections together firmly. As a 'belt and braces' you can use a cable...

    Advice on Noise?

I had a rear brake binding that caused noise and ran very hot. Footbrake was fine when I tested it. It turned out to be the lower handbrake linkage was ceased. Judicial application of hammer and small chisel got this moving. Coppaslip ensured no return of the problem.

    Transmission help

Cheers Gary. It's going in to the workshop at the end of the month and I'll pass on your advice. They said they would remove the propshaft to see if the noise goes away, that should give them a chance to check/change the cv joint. I'll update in this thread. Thanks Andy
