    Auto Gearbox Flashing Green Lights

Indeed, it is a chafed harness. The P clip is located near the top and at the rear of the transfer box - difficult to fully get to, but do-able. This issue seems to have caused (and now solved) a few other niggling electrical issues. Many thanks again plus a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

    Auto Gearbox Flashing Green Lights

Thank you for your reply. I suspected the wiring early on. The sensor item(?) I was referring to has a plug on it from the same harness as the XY switch - just go back from the XY switch and up; the harness attaches to the gearbox and there is some sensor(?) thing there... I have an image, but...

    Auto Gearbox Flashing Green Lights

Hi everyone, seasons greetings to you all! I have a 2004 Disco 2 TD5 auto. Recently, I had the two green dashboard lights flashing and no red lights on the gear selector console. I used Hawkeye to diagnose, and it reported the fault: 14 P0705 - Position Switch Monitoring. I checked the ECU for...

    Defender 110 Rebuild in Malawi

I though someone on LZ might enjoy the photos of some of my students starting a project of rebuilding a old Defender 110. The photos are posted on Facebook and I didn't want to re-post them all here. If you're on Facebook, take a look...

    Mzuzu, Malawi

My latest acquisition. Severely abused, beaten up, tired and a non-runner. One front brake works (the rest are disconnected), the rear half-shafts have been welded to drive flange and many other issues. I'm planning bring her back to life by using her as a training vehicle for students (here...

    Engine/Documentation Confusion

I'm currently living in Malawi and have just purchased a very tired single-cab 110. The VIN under the bonnet and chassis match (SALLDHAD7HA901207), but the offical documentation says that the engine is a 2.5 petrol. However, the serial number for the engine is 90262889E - which suggests it is...

    ACE Removal

Okay, finally got the answer. The light cannot be switched off without replacing one of the ECUs. Basically, the fact that the car has ACE is hard coded into one of the ECUs (not sure which one) and this ECU must be replaced for the light to be extinguished. Black electrical tape it is then :D

    Allisport Tuning Chip for TD5

Anyone had any experience with the Allisport Tuning Chip for a TD5? How good is it?

    ACE Removal

Well, I guess the fix is black electrical tape at the appropriate place behind the dashboard :)

    ACE Removal

I have been prepping my Disco 2 (2003) to go to Malawi (Central Africa). Part of the work I have done is to completely remove the ACE and replace it with set of non-ACE roll bars. Everything has gone well. However, the one problem I can't seem to resolve is switching off the ACE warning light...
