Hi, that is a high price to pay for what could essentially be a cheap fix of the DVD reader under the passenger seat. Ensure that you try another UK CD in the reader before getting ripped off.

After the last limp mode break down, it was time to face up to the truth, the inevitable H.G. failure. Well what else would you expect from an engine that has plastic locating dowels :confused:. Diagnosing the HGF fault on my TD5 was not so obvious as the usual creaming in the oil as a tell...

i'll check with the garage and get back to you about the HG test that they did. As for the hoses, they are pressurised when hot so it could have been an airlock in the system. I'm taking it on a long haul run this weekend which should give me more info.

Ah an American idea, it all makes perfect sense now...so off it comes on my Landy TD5...this should hopefully make it go up hills better! :)

TD5 Newby, Just out of curiosity could you tell me why the EGR is on the Landy in the first place? It just seems a bit odd to me that engineers have gone through great lengths to get them on there in the first place only for Landy owners to take them off again. Does it not affect the emission or...
