Anyone After a Set of Modulars & AT's?

The Treks came off my 2003 Serengeti so should fit your Freelander ok.

Anyone After a Set of Modulars & AT's?

I've got a set of 16" 5 spokes with Goodyear Wrangler HP 215/65 tyres, also got a set of 17" Trek wheels which have tyres that are close to needing changed.

    time for some alloys

Correct size is 215/65 16 - I've got a set sitting here which I'm thinking about selling now as I changed to 205/80 16 on my 5dr.

    K series 1.8 fuel economy

I got between 42 and 45 miles per £10 in both of my 1.8 Freelanders, roughly 26 mpg on average :(

2001 1.8 cuts out when warm, not hot??

Coils/coil packs have a habit of failing/overheating when at the end of their useful life. If the car won't start, I would be looking more towards the fuel pump as yours should have 2 seperate coil packs so theoretically the car should still try to start on 2 cylinders if one of the coils is broken.

    Custom Roof Rack

Mine has a bit of corrosion appearing but not sure I want it painted all shiny on my 2003 truck, lol. Mine is attached with P clips, although most are needing replaced now so looking into stainless/galvanised alternatives.

When did you last swap your plugs?

I think the problem is the interval for changing them is so big, people forget to do it. Changed mine a while back and it definately made a difference. It's worth paying the extra and getting the correct platinum spec plugs as well, despite the premium in the price.

    Quick clutch question?

My 3dr is exactly the same, already replaced the master/slave cylinder assembly but it made no difference - next thing to change for me is the slave cylinder mounting bracket.

    Propshaft removal

I've been running my 3dr in 2wd for the last 2 weeks as the VCU had tightened up and the bearings had failed and it's not something I would be doing again unless the height of summer. The greasy roads made it wheelspin easily from junctions and it definately didn't inspire any confidence driving...

    Front end suspension knock

I had an annoyed knock which appeared on certain roads but I couldn't find any play anywhere on any joints, so bought a pair of genuine drop links, fitted them, and the noise went away. Once off the car the drop link balljoints were just a little loose but obviously were worn enough to give the...

    VCU Torque test results

Tried this today on my 2003 1.8 with a 1m bar and 5kg weight, and it took 60 seconds to go from 45 degrees to horizontal. Have been thinking it's feeling tight for a while now, and seem slike it's on it's way to needing replaced after 102k miles. Also tried my 2002 1.8 and it didn't even move...
