    Sump Oil Drain Plug Knackered

Thanks, I appreciate the quick reply, but, have been trying with large Mole Grips and the plug seems quite soft, it just rounds even more! Tried a chisel too to try and turn it but no luck there either, was thinking maybe heat on it might help loosen the grip?

    Sump Oil Drain Plug Knackered

Went to do an oil change this afternoon, found that my sump drain plug was chewed and rounded off (it's even worse now!) Is there anyone on here who would be interested in doing the necessary (maybe welding another nut to it and removing it that way?) for a reasonable price please? I'm in...

TD5 Power Steering pipe split, please help an eejit!?

Hi all, had a bit of bad luck today, noticed a small pool of PS fluid under my Discovery, on checking it seems the bottom pipe off the bottle/resevoir has been rubbing against the engine and has worn the metal part of the pipe through allowing fluid to escape. I'm just guessing but knowing...

They've gone down quite a bit

Heard a terrible tale of depreciation only the other day, mate bought a VW Toerag about 3 years ago, the V10, 5.0 Tdi one, cost new was £65K ish, he paid £47K as an ex demo, ran it 2 years, put 30 odd K miles on it, took it to p/x and was offered £16K for it!!!!!! Oh how I laughed ...

    Are Bearmach genuine parts??

No, of course not. The old style lamps on the vehicle now have the LR badge raised in the glass, I'm not unhappy with the quality and finish of the new lamps, but, if I paid for LR then I should get LR, they aren't the bargain they first appeared. My hard luck I guess, it wasn't like I was...

    Are Bearmach genuine parts??

Just bought the front lamp upgrade for my D2 to change it to the 03 type lamps, ebay seller is quite specific that they are genuine LR parts, parcel arrived today, the headlamp units are Bearmach, no LR badge on them. I'm not unhappy with the quality, but if it says genuine parts then I'd like...

TD5 Power steering pipe replacement ..... DIY or no?

Well it was a bit easier than removing the pipes completely, as it was only the low pressure side I thought it would probably be ok to simply remove the piece of pipe that worn through and replace the section with some rubber high pressure hose, job took about an hour in the end, it was a bit...

TD5 Power steering pipe replacement ..... DIY or no?

Hi all, have tracked my leak to the pipe that is at the higher level from the Power Steering fluid bottle, it has been rubbing against the intercooler pipe just above the chassis rail and has worn through enough to start weeping (me too!) Is the replacement of this pipe a DIY job or am I best...
