This has most probably been covered at some point but ive had a look through and cant seem to find anything. I have a series 3 2.25 petrol, i trying to take the starter motor out as its knackered. Only problem is, is that i cant seem to remove it from the engine! i have had it out before but...

Only using solenoid as ignition barrel needs changing. Brand new coil so that will be fine

I need to invest in a starter handle as I can only fine one half! And the ignition barrel needs replacing so for the mean time I've been using the solenoid to start it

At the time couldn't find a second hand one at the time so took the orginal one out and got it repaired. Was fine but now fooked. Don't wanna spend small fortune on a second hand one and it be a duff one

Yeh spins fine with no plugs in, but as soon as there are back in it spins slow

The battery was fully charged. Not really that old. But I put a brand new battery on there and had the same thing?

Brought a s3 2.25. Petrol as a non runner, got it running by having reconditioned starter motor, changed points etc, redone all the earths, new coil pack, spark plugs, new battery. Left it stood still for a while as didn't have time to work on it and now I'm back to square one!! All I get when...

my wheels r blue, dont think the 1s u got on is orginal. Let me no how u get on with that. If u find out where it orgininally came from can u private msg me how u did it so i cant do mine. cheers

Yeh mines got the yellow inside and blue bonnet. I did see one on ebay the other day and that had the yellow roof and bonnet but i didnt think it looked that good! im guna keep mine how it is, personal preference tho

Nice! I got a ex coast guard too. so was interested in how much they go for, i got mine cheap 1977, wasnt running but now is just had to recondition the starter motor i payed £200! obv no tax or MOT

I had the same problem. Checked and redone all the earths. Hit the starter motor with wood, still wasnt doing nothing. In the end i took the starter motor off and got in reconditioned cost me £65. Check points, condenser + coil pack. mine was ok after i redone all that!

Thanks. i have took it apart nd cleaned the float part out, but il have to do a proper job

Just wondering if any1 can help me. I have a series 3 with a weber carb (The carb was new in 2004 but the landrover was stood still for about 3/4 years before i got it started again) The choke seems to work fine but i cant get the mixture right, i have had it on the emissions machine to try...

Ive tryed a new solenoid and had the starter motor reconditioned. And philvy, i am new whats ure point? only thought id try and get sum help no point being a dick about it
