sounds like the paint on the side hasn't gone off properly or there wasn't enough hardener if it was 2 pack , the only thing I would suggest is to rub it back down clean the surface well and apply another coat . probably not what you wanted to hear.

To be honest for car work you don't need a expensive one as you are only welding thin metal just practice plenty it's just a balance between power and wire speed you will find plenty of video's on youtube

The 2011 had the digital button but no digital as Landrover weren't happy with its operation but 2012 got it right so they fitted it

I think you will find that there are a few things in the manual that are actually options not standard as I found out on my 2011 GS, I spoke to a friend that works for landrover and he said the handbook is very good at showing you what you haven't got, according to my radio it has digital...

The only protection I have seen are sump guards and fuel tank protection which depending on how mad you want to go should be enough.

Update on the clicking noise, what was happening ? well I would drive forward on full lock and I would hear a metallic clicking from under the front end if I put it in reverse there was nothing, opposite lock forward or backwards still nothing, I then found out that from cold there was no noise...

just been looking into this further and another common fault is the brake pads rattling when turning so it may not be a cv joint, which could make some sense as I don't get any noise when reversing which should happen if it is a cv joint

I have had a go can't feel a lot of difference between each side but as it's only on full lock that I can hear it maybe it's just starting to fail I will see if I can borrow some ramps to get a good look.

I used LR062665 it was £395 Inc vat or an after market one was £109 which seems to cheap

Good evening all Looks like I may need a front N/S drive shaft as when I turn on full right hand lock I can hear a clicking sound. so my question is where would be a good place to get a OEM one from that will be cheaper than buying direct from land rover. cheers Mark
