Hello all

I have a FL2 2011 with 80000 on the clock I have just noticed that when I turn on full right hand lock I can hear a clicking noise from under the car, if I drive in reverse there is nothing also nothing in left hand lock, I am assuming it's the cv but could it be something else,
any ideas
cheers

I have had a go can't feel a lot of difference between each side but as it's only on full lock that I can hear it maybe it's just starting to fail I will see if I can borrow some ramps to get a good look.

just been looking into this further and another common fault is the brake pads rattling when turning so it may not be a cv joint, which could make some sense as I don't get any noise when reversing which should happen if it is a cv joint

Update on the clicking noise, what was happening ? well I would drive forward on full lock and I would hear a metallic clicking from under the front end if I put it in reverse there was nothing, opposite lock forward or backwards still nothing, I then found out that from cold there was no noise but after about 5 miles it was back so I spent a few hours trawling the Internet and found someone with the same problem which in the end turned out to be the wheel nuts, on the FL2 the nuts have captive washers with over time seize up so the nut doesn't spin in the washer and if the nuts are put on with a nut runner it can damage the washer, on top of that the correct torque must be used which is 132nm or 98 ft lbs
so I took the front wheels off cleaned and oiled the washer so that they now spin properly and put a little moly grease on the mating surfaces I then put the wheels back on with the correct torque and the clicking has gone ☺, so what could have been an expensive drive shaft change for nothing justo cost an hour of my time and a little grease and oil.
so I am now happy again.
and hopefully it may help others with the same problem.
