    2005 td4 wont start

When I changed my under the o/s/r wheel arch it was so badly corroded that it was only held in place by the fuel pipes. Mine was knackered after 7 years so heavens only knows how bad a 16 year old pump will be.

Friend of mine, ex First Driver supervisor, is the MD for Go Ahead in Plymouth reckons, as he would, that they are a far better run company than First was here in Cornwall. We always reckoned that First wanted rid of Cornwall but no one else wanted it as the revenue too low.

    Freelander 1 TD4 cuts out at around 3000 rpm - SOLVED !!!!!

Think I'd try the lp fuel pump if not already changed before delving too deep. Sounds like fuel starvation, seem to remember that you must use either genuine or OE, I used OE and had no problem. Changed mine because it was free floating due to corrosion thanks to the build up of crap under the...

Free tyre and back door seal.

Yes indeed free to a good home as helping to fill my garage. 1 x mich syncrone 17" tyre only ever been a new spare and always covered. 1 x modified rear door seal. New about 5 years ago but never fitted. Fits the whole of the rear door opening which should help to prevent the filling of the...

    Egr Blanking Mod

You could try blocking the vacuum pipe and the EGR bypass vacuum pipe tail and see if this cures the problem. This type of bypass wasn't available when I bought mine just the one with the vacuum pipe blank. Can't really see the benefit of leaving the vacuum pipe open except to avoid the well...

    Egr Blanking Mod

My EGR mod only had a blank where the flexi rubber type vacuum hose fitted, would have thought yours was the same. Can't help re the other warning light as i no longer have the Freelander.

    Egr Blanking Mod

I'd refit the original EGR valve ad see if this is causing the problem, can't se the other mods would cause the fault unless they've been fitted incorrectly however unlikely that seems.

    Freelander squeak

I found that both front brake back plates had come adrift due to corrosion but were still roughly in place, removing them stopped the noise from the front end.

    Noisy vcu

Usually the support bearings either side of the VCU, front one usually goes due to ingress of dirt.

    HOPE IV"E DONE RIGHT

I changed from the Freelander auto to a RAV as my Wife wouldn't drive the Freelander. What I did find was how rubbish the petrol Rav's fuel consumption was compared to the TD4, 20 mpg compared to 35 mpg.
