Hi Nodge, it was a long drawn out pain in the a$$ , I went through the list of things suggested or that I had read up on and spent quite a bit of money on parts that made no difference, but as it was intermittent for a year or more before getting considerably worse it was difficult to pin down...

well, the problem seemed to be resolved in as much as it was just occasional misfire and cloud of smoke , seemed to happen every couple of months and I decided to live with it , until 2 weeks ago , when it started missing pretty much as soon as it was under load and leaving clouds of white smoke...

well, as suggested Epicuser , I turned the power off on the Ronbox and all seems well so far, no pinking/hesitation but the eml is still on, I realise by turning the power off this is just masking the problem and will do the leak back test next weekend, would a faulty injector keep the eml light...

Hi thanks for the reply , yes , it is now on 104k ... when you say fuel pump, do you mean the one in the tank ? I have changed the low pressure pump under the rear wheel arch (and changed the filter as well) re the fuel, always use shell or BP :-) thanks again. cheers Chris

Hi, I have the Marangoni on mine , originally I only replaced the 2 rear tyres and kept my Michelin Latitude on the front , but was getting awful noise from front wheels, and shaking when braking etc, so I decided to change the fronts as well , with all 4 the same make the car drives great...

The best mod I have done on mine is the Roverron Synergy 2 tuning module, more power, smoother and in a lot of cases better MPG. Synergy 2 from tuning-diesels.com

I did mine some while ago and had to cut a notch into the rib bit. Re the seals , I replaced mine with the new ones, they are exactly the same as the originals and slot into the recess around the base where the cover fits.

Hi Mark thanks for the reply, it definitely isn't the outer gear on the motor as that is metal, maybe the motor has an internal plastic cog, I will have a look at the weekend. cheers Chris

my TD4 HSE 2006 is suffering the dreaded sunroof clicking problem and not closing properly on one side, so I purchased the repair kit off ebay which is pretty good except no instructions :-( So, I took the roof apart, removed the rails and 3 hours of fiddling around fitted the new parts...

Hi Sounds like it is the usual brake switch failure, I would do that 1st before letting a garage charge you a fortune to do it. Also be careful as quite often the actual brake lights don't come on when the amber lights are on, could be dangerous. New part is around £8 for the standard...

Hi, I would think it is the same as the 3 Amigos , mine was the same with only 2 lights on the dash, the remedy of changing the brake light switch fixed it. Also, if it is this then generally the brake lights stop working as well when the dash warning lights are on. Re the HDC , that only works...

oops.... I rushed in without thinking there.. :doh: but worth checking the crankcase breather as well (take off airfilter cover, and it is to the left at the back behind the injectors IIRC ...)
