    Classic/historic status

I need to do this this year. For a 2A that hadn't been taxed for 15 years and also my allegro that was registered in '79. I take it it's straight forward. Can it be done online or do I need to post a form off?

'02 D2 Auto Power Steering Pump leak.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but 'allegedly' had the same problem I currently have and his photo in the first post shows the location of the problem o-ring. The second post suggests the part number is QYX200160 No14 in the exploded diagram. This is the o-ring for the pipe from the pump to...

    Damage repair advice please

It's a 51 plate. As far as I can tell, the gear box mounts are undamaged. It managed to drive a few yards but I'll get a better idea about that side of it once I straighten the axle up.

    Damage repair advice please

A question about my mate's defender. It had a heavy shunt at the front offside pushing the axle back and bursting the rear mount of the radius arm. Sorry about the bad phone pics. Question is, will this just be a case of welding on a new rear mount? The bottom link mount will need some work...

    chassis rot

Seems mental that my >40 year old land rovers have better chassis than a 12 year old disco. I have a disco 2 as well and now I'm scared to poke about the chassis!

    Headlights not working

My 99 td5 disco has lost its headlights. When they are switched on, the blue high beam light in the dash comes on and stays on regardless, the headlights don't come on and only the offside side lights work front and back. At one point he near side headlight came on by itself a few seconds after...

SRS warning light and fault code B1008

I checked and cleaned the ecu red plug (new injector harness seals needed) after getting rough running issues and, as well as fixing the rough running, the srs light went out. Might be coincidence of course.

One car too far on discovery channel

It's dire  Two tubes hamming it up over contrived obstacles. The 'tension' as they struggle against adversity is very low quality fakery. The bit of the one I watched had the fool driving into a 'surprise' swamp at about 20mph which is a competely stupid thing for the so called expert...

Desperate need of recovery in Sutton park

Well done. Looks like it would have come out backwards more easily. Soft, soggy grass can be a total mare - big tyres needed.

    dug out the 109

Getting there. What welder are you using?

    dug out the 109

Good effort. Keep the pics coming I need some inspiration to tackle my 109.

    Spring / Shackle bolts

I feel your pain Dom! I haven't done the front springs yet but for the rear I managed to get good leverage on them. Get a piece of scaffold tube over your spanner if possible.

    How much should i pay??

A lot depends on whether the chassis is repairable or not. Some are rotten all over and you can do the research for how much a replacement is. If it just needs a few hours with the welder then IMO worth £300 all day for a TE repairable series 2A. Can you weld?

    Floor support beams

From memory I think they are rivetted to the inner tub edge so they need drilled out. They are wedged between the chassis rails and the tub edge. You might be able to batter them out one side at a time. I took the floor of mine out and now have a removable floor which makes for easy access on to...

    series 3 bad brakes

My '78 88" doesn't have a servo, I thought they were only on later rovers. Could be a modification of course. What do you mean by very hard? Hard to press the pedal or the opposite of spongy? If the brakes are set up properly they work well.

    brakes again

Can you pump some stiffness (fnarr fnarr) into the pedal? Make sure you haven't got the top spring connected to both shoes. The top spring should also go behind the adjuster. I took the top spring out completely.
