    Discovery write off!

Thanks guys, The old girl was insured for £2000 , repair company valued it at 1600 pounds and cost of repairs was estimated at over a thousand pounds. I am assuming that the auto repair company were pricing Landrover parts, including a new rear panel plus spray painting etc. This is in excess of...

    Discovery write off!

During the snow last week someone crashed through my wall and in to the rear of my disco. I had just spent a fortune getting it through the mot as there was quite a bit of welding needed doing. She was running sweet as a nut. Anyhow, she has been written off as a class C due to the cost of...

    Roof swap - How easy?

Unfortunately it's an after market sunroof, leaks like buggeryand there is a lot of rust on the inside of the roof to one side of it. I'm not sure what make it is and I'm not a great fan of sunroofs anyway so it's just getting going to get sealed in.

    Oil pan question.

I tried to drain the oil for an oil change and found that the drain plug just spins round in the thread. Does anyone have any idea how to remove it? I have tried putting a screwdriver behind it to put some pressure on the bolt but am not having much luck. Any tips please.

    Its ok now!!!

A few of weeks ago I changed the front discs on the disco. After a couple of weeks I heard a distinctive clanking and grinding coming from the front right wheel. I took the hub off and realised that two of the 14mm spline head bolts securing the disc had not been tightened correctly and had...

    Welding question

Just had a thought, how about a piece of chequer plate to cover the sunroof and rust patch, seal it with tiger glue and rivet in place? A least chequer plate would not look out of place. Ok it would look a bit weird from the inside through the sunroof but at least no more leaks.

    Welding question

Thanks guys, seems like a ball ache. Think I'll just ignore it for a while and see how it goes. It's not showing on the outside but I fear it may do in a year or two.

    Welding question

How hard/easy would it be for a welder to remove the sunroof and weld in a new piece and to blend it in? I have just renovated my roof liner and found quite a bit of rust around the sunroof and think it may be easier to get rid. Regards

    Headlining

Thanks for the great tip. I got my discovery back last night after having the rear floor replaced, seeing as the seats and carpets were out I thought I might as well try this on my tatty headliner. I took the liner out this morning, took off the cloth, rubbed it down and painted it with...

    What do you call these?

Please help! I have just dropped my D1 off for a new boot floor and body mount. Problem is I will need to screw down the inspection panel to the fuel sender and cannot recall for the life of me what you call the little White things that you put in to the holes to receive the screws to hold...

    boot floor

I would suggest that if you are going to insult someone for no good reason then try not to make a dick of yourself by showing your lack of English grammar. It is either you're or you are a cock! What's wrong with investing in a welder, getting some tuition and learning to do it yourself...
