Hi, First of all the V8 has a timing chain. I had a ticking noise it was the gasket between the manifold and down pipe. Hope this helps... I have the same model of Disco.

Hi fett, Sme ( stenhouse motors ) are the lpg people in Edinburgh. I am a wildlife and scenic photographer. Just managed to sort out a jeep on lpg and it was running great then it got written off!!!

Thanks for the replies, will look at everything this weekend. It does run on petrol every so often. Will look at plugs, leads etc and see if its them. If not its to go to the Lpg SME in Edinburgh next week. Ran on lpg yesterday fine at 30 mph but any more and you could feel it was rough.

Hi, Runs perfect on petrol... lpg 30 seconds then starts to fumble and sounds like its missing or lack of gas. It still accelerates but rough... switch back to petrol nice and smooth.

I have a Disco 11 which is run on LPG, tick over is fine but when cruising or with the foot down it sounds as though its missing. We have now sorted out all the vacuum pipes it has new plugs and we are lead to believe good quality ht leads. Anybody out there got any ideas, please

tis me again, last winter when it went to -21 all the diesel was frozen and everything diesel wasn't going anywhere... except the ones with a drop of additive or petrol. Our local filling station made massive sales on the additive for thinning diesel. Even some trucks had fires underneath...
