My P38 injector fuel pump started a problem with lack of fuel. I was lucky and got another pump... I took it to a landy garage who fitted the new one!!! When I collected the wagon it was running worse than before. The garage told me it was either the Turbo or just a slow P38... no neither of these, I was sure. They charged me for another hour and a half on the computor to find out what the problem was, as the new pump was not showing a fault. I eventually got back home and took a look!!! I had not paid for the work by this time. We popped the bonnet and had a look... well the mechanic who fitted the pump had forgotten to fit the pipe from the Boost Pressure Sensor to under the inlet manifold. If he had known his job he would have noticed he had not fitted it and not messed around on the computor for so long. I rest my case and went back to the garage and paid them only for the three hours to fit the pump. When I asked to see the mechanic, the reply was short... we got rid of him yesterday!!! The reason for this thread is do not believe what you are told by a garage, until you are certain that they are correct and don't pay over the odds.
