So i take it the release bearing is causing the wining noise, and likely need to replace the dog teeth and baulk rings on the 2 gears. And while there fit a new clutch kit.

It goes into reverse ok, grates occasionally but not every time. Cant remember if i said the clutch wines when depressed.

Clutch seems to work okay. When driving there is normal travel and it engages the gearbox ok. The problem is selecting 1st or second. It is easer to select first after locating second and then moving forward into 1st. worse when cold. clean oil in Gearbox any ideas before I start...
