Not entirly true the gear can be cut off as the shaft and gear where already very worn its no real loss and should give the old girl some more life John

Percentage wise there are more landrovers still on the road than any other vehicle i think the reason is first there really is no replacement if you want a proper working all rounder plus even with there issues they are not to bad to fettle. John

He is effectively runing oversize tyres if on the original rims,i am aware many do but may not be helping plus you say the pressures are correct but what is correct almost certainly on oversize tyres pressure would need to be a bit lower but not always the case,my own truck runs 30psi front...

Vehicle is a 2000 td5 manual it has started to vibrate at a shade over 2000rpm whether in gear or not i thought it was the engine mountings and have replaced them with genuine articles and no difference any advise much appreciated vehicle had a new clutch and flywheel about 4500 miles ago. John
